LOL @ Wallace playing for Scotland.
LOL @ Wallace playing for Scotland.
He should change his name to William for the duration of the world cup
No, what I meant is if the NRL still refuses to register the contract for whatever reason after the 1st of November. But it's a signed contract, the fact that it can't be registered yet doesn't mean that they're allowed to tear it up if the feel so inclined.
So in theory, if Milford has signed a contract for us in 2015, even though it can't be registered yet doesn't mean that his manager can just call up and say 'nah, scrap that contract, we changed our mind'. It's signed, done & dusted unless they have a clause in there saying otherwise (which the Broncos would surely not be dumb enough to have allowed).

I don't think any court would enforce the contract, which would essentially prevent the player from playing anywhere.
The best 17 of the NRL players playing in the WC (but not for the big 3).
It's in the NRL rules that they won't register a new contract until round 13, so they can't register it before handI can't see the NRL itself refusing to register it.

Problem then comes if they've already registered an extension to the existing club which can be done at anytime. Threats of court action would obviously happen like with Papa and Jeremy Smith but none have made it that far be interesting to see what happens if it did. There were calls last year after the Papa thing for the round 13 rule to be scrapped due to managers taking advantage of it to hold clubs to ransom and the mess it can cause. No, I mean when the time comes. If there's a signed contract already, unless both parties agree so, it can't be destroyed. So therefore it's just a matter of waiting for the time when it will be registered. And the NRL won't refuse to register it unless there's extenuating circumstances on the player's part (eg, ferguson).

I've emailed the NRL for clarification on the round 13 rule, if they reply I'll post it (even if I'm proven wrong)
But the later one would've already been registered since they can register it immediately rather than having to wait till round 13, that's where court might come into it. It's a messy situation and hasn't been tested yet despite threats to do so.If there are conflicting contracts them the earlier dated one would likely be registered.
