yeah, so like Foordy said the problem is just that they didn't inform the NRL.

When was the NRL Integrity Unit set up? is it something relatively new?

apparently it got set up after the incident (on sunday roast today), but they still should have reported it to the ARLC

Quite Frankly, I think its all just rumors. Every Sam, Dick and Harry seems to think they know something about footy player's partners.

The fact that someone asked Chris garry if this would affect Ben being with us in 2014 and his response was a straight 'no' I would say there is more shit and rumours to this than actual fact. If Ben had done have the shit all these people 'in the know' claim he has well it certainly would affect him playing next year

The National Rugby League Integrity Unit will conduct an independent review of the Bulldogs actions in relation to the standing down of Ben Barba earlier this year.
The club has openly supported the review which follows the publication in today’s media of a deeply disturbing image of a woman suffering facial injuries.
Any suggestion of violence against women is abhorrent and has no place in Rugby League.
At no stage has the NRL previously seen the image published today nor has it been aware of any injuries suffered as a result of physical abuse. Ben’s partner Ainslie Currie has consistently denied any media suggestion of physical abuse and continues to do so.
“We are not and have never been aware of a complaint in relation to Ben Barba,” NRL Chief Operating Officer Mr Jim Doyle said.
“It is appropriate that an immediate review is conducted into the circumstances and that is already in train.
“It is important in the meantime to consider that we are also talking about the lives of individuals and we must also remain highly alert to the physical and mental well-being of all concerned.
“We want to ensure that every possible step is being taken for the safety of all parties.”
The NRL will make no further comment until the review is completed.

Nothing story to try and rattle Barba before next season. He is supposed to be Brisbanes marquee signing for the 2014 season, has all of this pressure for results on his shoulders so not living up to those expectations would be a great headline.
