It's a murky area alright. Especially if, as some have suggested, the Round 13 clause has been removed. NRL can refuse to register it till the cows come home but it is still a legally binding contract.
Hypothetically, if a player such as Milford tried to reneg and the NRL refused to register the contract, could the club stand their digs and say, well you are contracted to us so sit on the sidelines for the remainder of our contract. Or go play Qcup?
Has anyone seen the rumours on twitter saying Jarrod Hayne to the Raiders? Not sure if there is anything in it or a smoke screen to keep Milf. Maybe Milf has told them once and for all that he won't back flip hence the interest in Hayne

Hi guys here's the link to the Hayne situation

Reports last weekend that Canberra are preparing a massive war chest to retain star fullback Anthony Milford are spot-on.
But I'm hearing the $1 million reported in the press is under what the Raiders are prepared to pay to keep Milford, who has committed to join Brisbane in 2015.
The true figure, when you include bonuses, third-party deals and other 'extras', will be more like a staggering $1.2 million a year.
Good luck to the Raiders – but I’m hearing whatever they throw at Milford, the Broncos will simply add an extra $50,000.
