[Official] - Milford signs with Broncos

Hypothetically, taking that kind of money is a double edged sword. Fans and media would expect results in line with the pay grade. Any sub par performance would have him the target of heavy criticism on all fronts.

Weight of expectations would be huge. That's big pressure. Despite all he's shown, it's hardly conducive to him playing his natural game with confidence.

Still think it's all hot air, and I'm not buying into any of it. Whatever happens, happens.

The just had gee gee on the deadset legends. He didn't exactly sound confident in Milford no back flipping. When asked about it he said two or three times that you never know what will happen. Probably means nothing but he leads me to think they aren't that confident either.

I heard that as well and read it the same as you, he did not sound at all confident. I wonder if they have heard something.

Gee is playing it the right way.
He rejected a massive offer last year to sign with us. They know he wants to be with us next year.

If it was about the money he wouldn't be interested in coming back to Brisbane IMO. He will still make very good money here but that isn't his major concern if everything that has been said in the past is true.

To be totally honest, Gee didn't sound very upbeat about anything in that DSL interview this morning.

Still sounded as though he was half asleep !

I took from it that the Broncos were in constant communication with Milford management, and they were happy with how things were.....but the chance of Milford backing out were/are a distinct possibility.

I am so over this. If he backflips fine. Sure it will be a big blow for us but we will just move on and hope one of our young halves develops or we will throw more $$ at DCE

Well, we need a second half, or someone who resembles a half. If Milford backs out before Rnd 13, boot Hoffman out (if he's even still in), and give someone real a chance.

Brisbane will have better options regardless. The juniors will have another year under their belts and despite a shocker last night, have shown some good signs thus far.

Also wouldn't be too quick to write off Strasser either. 1910 or Jeba would have a better idea on his personal performance, but he did play apart in the Dolphins upset victory over the premiership favourites last weekend.

I know it's just dreaming, but if the Raiders go really badly, is there anything theoretically stopping us from paying the Raiders to grant him a release so he can make a mid season transfer the way Sam Perrett did a few years back?

I think we are going to have enough trouble getting the kid here next year without worrying about this year

Chris Garry said on his blog yesterday that his source says Milford will be honouring his deal with us, that it was his church that convinced him to honour his Raiders deal for this year as they told him it is important to honour your commitments

then that Tux guy from the Canberra times tries to hijack his blog saying that "his source" says Milford will be staying in Canberra next year and we won't have to wait until round 13 for it to be official. he claims his source is as close to Tony as can be without being Tony.

everyone just seems to be spinning shit right now.

there will be a new article every week until either round 13 or Milford backflips saying that "the Raiders are hopeful of Milford staying" without actually saying something new.
