Our new halfback should be

watching ISC and ISP this weekend and Darren Nicholls stood out for Penrith he is a good half who takes the line on, every time I watch him he is constantly good always top 3 on the park. Down side is his age but up side Bennett would be familiar with him

Guy Hamilton who plays for sunshine coast had one of the most dominant half displays I've seen in reserve grade. 2 try's, 2 40/20's (one officially, was robbed of another) a few line break and try assists. I believe he is only 22/23

Still interested to see more of Scarlett. Really think if you partner Milford with a solid supporting halfback they would have the perfect balance

Hamilton was always a decent prospect in the Under-20s, he just had the disadvantage of playing in a poor Bulldogs line-up.

be careful what you wish for with hamilton. he is the ultimate speed hump in defense. the kid can run and set up some nice tries yesterday but he is no where near nrl standard.
he would get caught every week as a spot player and mowed straight over

True but it's not like we don't have that problem with nikorima already

Kniko is a decent defender, especially for his size. He struggle close to the line though because he takes a metre or two to bring them down.

If we were to target someone from the Titans, it has to be Taylor.

Throw whatever we can at him, not that I think it would make any difference. If we can't get him, move on. Elgey looks to be a talented kid, but I really doubt he would be a good foil for Milford.

Against Souths they targeted him all night and got three tries through him one way or another

Nikorima would let more in than he creates.

To be fair, others should have contested the kicks. He (or any halfback for that matter) was never going to win a battle of contested leaps. Moga, or a 2nd rower should have gone up. I think it was one of those things that escaped the concentration of the players with the tumultuous week they had, in players getting sacked and promoted.
I hope hunt plays his old hooker role, coming back into the team. The decision has been made that knick is the half now, and that's where he should stay barring injury until seasons end. Hunt can swap in for marshal, but more likely give macca a rest, and use his strength as a dummy half runner when the forwards are tired. Any further changes to the spine will be too disruptive and counterproductive to Knicks development. I feel sorry for hunt, as a lot of the team's troubles were laid at his shoulders unfairly, but he must make the most whatever role he plays or he will only be remembered for them. That he played well in isc on the weekend is heartening and I hope it lifts him to excel in whatever role he's given.

Hence him being dragged when the game was at a knife's edge in a match where it was important the Broncos got back on the winner's board. Yet everyone thinks he will be wearing the #7 in the next match. His poor performance vs Souths is exactly why he won't be.

We don't have any halves that are great defenders. Hunt is the best, but hes only slightly above par. Marshal and knik both need to improve, but neither will ever stop a big forwards running at the try line on their own, nor should they be expected to. Its not their job. That said, missed tackles in general play that lead to breaks are inexcusable and unless they have a busted should be able to wrap up the legs. Its where Milford's defence improved.

he wont be going anywhere for a long time. he is seen as a future captain of the storm.
amazing thing talent scouting and proper development.

Hopefully we can do that with Paix and or Boyd.

only time will tell, but same old story is unfolding.
paix, boyd and subloo are all the same age and play in the halves. we have them all and will just revert to the funnel effect and hope for the best rather than developing properly like the storm are doing croft.
