Too much hate for Moga .
1 poor half of footy . Been solid other wise . Guy improves every week recently.
I agree. He has a bit of improvement to come, defence wise, but he is improving. I would love to see that blinding speed he had in those clips but I guess those days are gone. He was rushing up too much in the last game, but it was understandable, given the crazy nature of the Penrith attack. A bit more confidence in him setting his winger up, and we might see some of what's in those clips. He hasn't lost his size and you can't fault his work ethic.
Bennett has been working with him a lot on his defence. So I'm confident he'll be right in a couple of weeksI agree. He has a bit of improvement to come, defence wise, but he is improving. Hate may not be the right word but let's just assume it's a strong term that covers the posters on here who absolutely screamed their displeasure with Moga and Bennett being so blind and senile as to keep picking Moga. Dozens on here wanted him dropped, not good enough for reserves etc. There was a great deal of ' hate ' on this site.I dont see hate for Moga at all, he just hasn't been all that great.
His severe lack of speed is always going to be a major problem though. He isn't an attacking threat and opposition backs manage to get on his outside pretty easily. He has improved slightly the past two weeks but I still don't think that he is NRL quality.Hate may not be the right word but let's just assume it's a strong term that covers the posters on here who absolutely screamed their displeasure with Moga and Bennett being so blind and senile as to keep picking Moga. I thought some of Moga's positioning was at times poor and I hope that improves. Perhaps Reed could help with some one on one coaching as he is still involved with the club.
Maybe Bennett is thinking he can replace oates on the wing when he moves to second row. That way we don't loose that big winger and bird slors into center.
I wouldn't call it a severe lack of speed...he's just really slow off the mark. I think the fact that he looks like he could run a lot faster but doesn't plays into that. He's got a fairly good stride I would say.His severe lack of speed is always going to be a major problem though. Again you are comparing him to a guy who chiselled out a decent NRL career. I would take a busted Reed over Moga any day. You can start making comparisons when/if Moga plays 6/7 years of regular first grade.Compared to reed ??? Is there anyone who actually knows his sprint times ? Would be good to have something to go by .
Slow off the mark is a terrible trait for a first grade centre. He reminds me of Kaine Manihera, they both have/had the same deficiencies.I wouldn't call it a severe lack of speed...he's just really slow off the mark.
