My thoughts on the milford situation, just when you've convinced yourself that he shouldn't be offered a new deal, regardless of how small, you get flashbacks of his brilliance. Then get images of him tearing us apart in future years and remember he is only 26 still.
Despite that, we have 100% made the right choice and we need to part ways.
I would argue that Milfs current work ethic and commitment today are exactly the same as 2015 and piror when he was carving teams up. Anthony milfords strength is is speed and ability break the line. Like most of us, milf has aged and naturally lost a tiny bit of speed and gained some size. He does nothing different now to back then, he's just lost the element that made him great.
If Milf was the ultimate competitor and willing to work hard i would suggest his career to 2015 would have been even better but we still would have seen a slight drop in his showings, just no where near as bad as what has happened.
The amount of times the last 3 years ive seen him poke his nose through the line and been half a second from making a break, the exact kind of break he used to make, but just get tackled. And i think to myself "shit he's back he's almost there he's poking his nose through". When realistically that half a second of speed he's lost makes all the difference.
At the end of the day unless another club can change his work ethic he won't get that ability to break the line back. He will still throw the odd good ball and have an ok kicking game and maybe break the line of some poor defence but ultimately, 2015 milf is long gone, partially through no fault of his own rather natural change in his body.
