Because you’re saying that someone should have to avoid a certain profession because they morally object to certain aspects of it rather than be apart of the change for better.I have no idea how sexual assault relates to Payne Haas, alcohol, gambling, money, contracts etc.

League doesn’t need to advertise gambling or alcohol to survive.
About what exactly? You sir are on planet fucking pluto. You quite literally have no idea.
They also used to enjoy smoking in the car with their kids, using homophobic slurs, and given the misses a slap around. What’s your point?
Gambling and alcohol abuse are the 2 biggest scourges of our society and countless working class men have ended their lives due to both of them.
Yeah **** off Payne Haas if you can’t be a good ol’ workin class Aussie, go back to…Newcastle!
I drink, smoke, and gamble on occasion. I’ve got nothing against people’s personal choice to do so. Either does Haas by the sound of the story. You done, or you about to go on another rant about sugar and how that should be made illegal as well? Will someone just please think of the children!
All of these things are choices an individual (believe or not) has the ability to make, every single one of them. Just like Payne Haas had the choice to become a muslim, we don't need to dig into some of the acts muslims have been responsible for, do we?
For the record, I don't drink alcohol, I don't smoke, I am what they call "straight edge" but I absolutely respect the choices of someone else if they do partake in any of those sort of things. That's exactly how it should be, be responsible for your own decisions but don't expect the world to change to meet your standards unless it's something that's obviously illegal, like any sort of harassment.
Should fast food?I drink, smoke, and gamble on occasion. I’ve got nothing against people’s personal choice to do so. Either does Haas by the sound of the story.
Much like smoking though, I don’t think it should be advertised relentlessly on tv by sport stars.
About what exactly?
It's likely more pervasive than this, broadcasters inject cash for broadcast deals in the radio, streaming, paytv and free to air - the advertising they display is likely far more transient than the dedicated sponsorships provided the named sponsors, however, it's there in bulk with copious alcohol, gambling and other 'unhealhty' advertising.Gambling advertising is the second biggest earner of income for the NRL. Internal estimates were roughly at 110M for this season. That doesn't even include the money paid to teams directly for sponsorship.
TV rights values are higher because of gambling advertising and their value during prime time.
You take gambling advertising out, and there goes 30% of total income for the NRL and teams. Good luck replacing that with Lego and KMart advertising.
I’ve got no doubts about any of that. Doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be more heavily regulated. The current capacity is disgusting. The whole gambling industry in the country is highly predatory.Gambling advertising is the second biggest earner of income for the NRL. Internal estimates were roughly at 110M for this season. In an ideal world, yes. Clearly yes.Should fast food?
What should be considered acceptable advertising? Theoretically, advertisements of any type are designed to get you to buy - even if it's to your own financial detriment? Should that type of predatory thinking also be outlawed? In an ideal world, yes. Clearly yes.
I would start with anything aimed at children or during programming with a big child audience. Or anything that costs the country billions a year in health costs. What should be considered acceptable advertising? Comparing anything anyone has said in here to making light of sexual assault is crazy and disrespectful.Because you’re saying that someone should have to avoid a certain profession because they morally object to certain aspects of it rather than be apart of the change for better.

I wish more players would push back against it.
I get where your coming from and have my own firm stance on alcohol and gambling. But I would argue that it's the responsibility of parents to educate their children on the dangers of these things. Personal responsibility is something we seem to have forgotten. Also the way the parents live their life is more of an example to the children than anything else.I would start with anything aimed at children or during programming with a big child audience.
