I don’t see the point, his biggest strength is his endurance, something you don’t really need in a game where the ball in only in play for 30mins.
That isn't the issue though. He can earn a shitload more money and not work as hard to do it. Not to mention the international scene which is non existent in RL.I don’t see the point, his biggest strength is his endurance, something you don’t really need in a game where the ball in only in play for 30mins.
Has he played any rugby in his life??CM reporting that Haas is being heavily courted by Rugby Australia. They are ready to make him an offer that would blow away anything that he'd earn in the NRL.

Obviously I am hoping he sticks around but wouldn't hold it against him if he didn't. I still haven't gotten over the defections of Wendell and Lote.

God I hate Corey Parker..Doesn't appear to be a genuine story. There's been no offer, and of course they would be looking at the NRL's top players, and comparing what the codes have to offer. Nothing to see here.
Rugby Australia chairman Hamish McLennan:
“Payne could definitely be wearing Wallaby gold. We really like Payne. He has a strong rugby pedigree and it’s probably time for him to spread his wings and do something really special. The Broncos are great — but playing for the Wallabies against the British Lions would be even better. By playing rugby, Payne can see the world.”
Corey Parker:
“He is a special talent and he would be an asset for the Wallabies. Payne is not your normal rugby league athlete. He is such a gifted forward and for his size and speed, he is remarkably fit and I have no doubt he would be successful in rugby. I don’t know what position he plays because I don’t know the game well enough, but he would certainly have the talent to make it in rugby. Apparently he has a rugby union background and I’m sure Payne will be putting a lot of thought into his future."“The only person who can answer if he wants to go across to rugby is Payne, but I would think if he started out in rugby, he has an appetite for it and maybe he does consider that opportunity. I don’t know what sort of money he would attract in rugby, but would he get more than he could get in the NRL? Maybe."“If he is a $1 million forward in league, Suaalii went to rugby for $1.6 million, so it’s pretty good coin. If he has that rugby experience as a junior, there would be that temptation to go across.”Payne last year:
“It means a lot to win the Paul Morgan Medal, but I would rather win premierships for the Broncos. The individual accolades are nice but I would rather win comps and play finals footy. I have missed out the last two years and it sucks sitting there watching other teams play in the big sudden-death games and lifting the NRL trophy. I would love to bring that to the Broncos. This is a special club and I know we have the young guys coming through here, like Patty Carrigan, Kotoni (Katoni) and Selwyn, to get to the top. I want to help us build that legacy and make the Broncos successful again.”
You'd think he would have to play blindside flanker. The tight five is too technical for him to pick up and wouldn't suit his strengths; open side flanker requires a different build (like Murray) and is also pretty intricate from what I understand as an ex-player who hasn't watched the game since I left high school.Has he played any rugby in his life??
I'd imagine he'd have to play in the forwards, which is a completely different ball game to league.
Cant see Haas being able to play inside centre, which is where SBW and Burgess played after moving over
He'd kill it at breakaway. You'd think he would have to play blindside flanker. The transition wouldn't be easy and the ARU would be going all in praying that he plays well in one specific position. No wonder RU is on its deathbed in this country. The "travel the world" line is a joke too: surely you'd get over flying to South Africa for a week, playing a game of contact sport, and then flying back pretty quickly.
I miss Jake too, man.I'd rather lose him to RU than to the Roosters though.
He's in a tough spot. Yes hated by majority of the nrl for playing for the broncos. And he's hated by the broncos because he's a ****. Literally nobody likes himGod I hate Corey Parker..
Honest question, but is RU bigger than RL in Australia? If people think Rugby won't be chasing him, you're going to be in for a rude shock.
They are looking to recruit NRL players. Haas is one of the best in the game and the best forward in the game. He would absolutely kill it in Union. Of course they are going to be chasing him.
And quite frankly, we don't have the money to compete with them. We're going to have to hope Haas doesn't want to play Union.
Because no cap to spending and this is Rugby Australia giving out the contract not the clubs, which in union are just a vessel for the local governing body in the southern hem.Honest question, but is RU bigger than RL in Australia?
How do they have so much money to just pick and choose from RL to pilfer for their ranks.
I went to a RU high school, and even there RL was more popular outside of the actual RU school side.
I just dont get how these other codes can throw ludicrous money at our top players and take them at will.
