If Payne walks we just use some of his money to buy a quality prop like Mo. The rest goes towards maintaining our other promising players coming through, as well as preparing to splash some cash on a halfback post Reynolds retirement.

With tax and Sydney being a lot more expensive, the money won't go as far as it would in Brisbane.

Will certainly help his management’s bottom line tho

100%. We have made a more than fair offer to payne and as he is likely to delay until after Nov, I think we reach out to mofo's management and let him know we are interested in talking and see if he will go to market. It puts the pressure back on hass' management team too.

Although our young ones look promising in a settled side and being given simple jobs, if we ask too much (like we did of the young 2019, 2020 team) they may struggle. That is why I think we need another starting top middle like mofo that can share that middle forward leader role with carrigan.

Moe would be an awesome replacement at a discount, but I honestly think he'll get 900-950k on the market. But if he wanted to come to a good club at a discount like 750k, he'd be a great pickup.

There is one way to stop it becoming a circus, and i'm personally all for it ... that is replace the current rugby league media with actual professionals.

I agree with Renouf, Payne is entitled to test his value on the market. we as a fan base should actually welcome it. he's never been to market before. Once he does and realises that our offer is fair for a club in a premiership window, then we'll get back a more settled Payne Haas, instead of a bloke always wondering.

If as some expect, he decides he'd prefer September's off and takes the cash, well at least we'll know that too, and we'll have plenty of time to figure out how best to spend that $1 million a season

As long as we don't put off other necessary signings as a result. Haas and his management would already know what is out there, so testing the market is rubbish.

If Payne were to leave I'll be pretty disappointed that we lost Palasia, everytime Payne has been out Keenan has stepped in and stepped up along with Jensen. Keenan would of left because he seen Flegler and Payne Infront of him and probably is only on about a quarter of what Payne's asking if he's not getting game time at the Titans and Payne goes I'll happily take him back.
