Hypothetically, if that did happen and we signed Sam Williams and let Wallace go, how much would you guys be happy to throw at the likes of Barba, Folau, Tomkins to be our Fullback next season?

Barba - 600k-800k season
Folau - 800k-1m per season
Tomkins - 600k-800k per season

With the new salary cap increases, I'd happily sign any of those 3 on a several year deal for said amounts.

With a young halves pairing like hunt and Williams I would be happy to pay that money for those guys (I'm still unsure about Tomkins though)

If Williams was as highly sort after as some suggest he would be snapped up by now. I wouldn't say no to him but I don't think he is the guy for us.

He wants heaps and it's pretty hard to prove your worth it when your playing for mounties. I don't think hes what we need.

For the life of me I just don't understand what Gus sees in him but obviously he is desperate for a replacement for Luke Walsh. I hope he gets his man, it would be a pleasure to see Wally's incompetence ruining another team's chances.

Gus sees an honest toiler who won't let the team down. He's solid in defence, works damn hard, and has a ton of character. Partnered with a good creative 5/8, it'd be a solid halves pairing. Unfortunately we don't currently have a good creative 5/8, but I'm prepared to bet Hunt can/will/should get there.


As far as what our spine should look like:
1 - Barba
6 - Hunt
7 - DCE
9 - Macca/Granville

That should do it.
