pick your Round 1, 2012 team

Someone will make way for Parker... McGuire, Te'o, Anderson or Gillett? (sacrilege)

T'eo would be the likely scape-goat.

Particularly seeing as though his name has been touted as attracting big offers from rival clubs.

Maybe he's on the outer already ???

I'd imagine Anderson will make way for Parker.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if Hannant started and McGuire on the bench, despite last season's performances suggesting it should be the other way around.

I'd actually have Civo come off the bench. Imagine how much harder he will be to stop coming on fresh after the opposition has spent the last 20mins trying to deal with McGuire, Hannant, Parker and Thaiday!

Criminal to bench McGuire though IMO. His endurance is one of his big strength's and using him as a bench player takes away from that IMO.

I actually think the opposite ....

.. start with Civo so he can dent/bruise/soften/murder the opposition defenders for a good solid 20 minutes, then bring on McGuire who will run at them at 100mph !!

McGuire sometimes overplays it when he comes off the bench. Agree with Ari, better to start with Civo or Hannant off the bench.

Of the three I think Hannant should be the bench prop, he has the fastest leg speed and as long as they are rotated well it won't matter which starts and which doesn't.

Ando has worked his butt off over summer. So has Copley. Don't be surprised if this is a break out year for both of them

Both of then will need to learn how to hold the ball - especially Anderson, who has a penchant for dropping it cold at the most critical of times.

Yeah but where do we play Copley? Will need an injury of a drastic change in form from one of our other backs to get a game I would have thought. I like Copley, he will turn out to be a pretty good player.

If you read Hook's wrap on Anderson, I wouldn't be.

Can see him taking the prop spot on the bench relegating McGuire IF McGuire doesn't have a stormer on Saturday.

So long as he doesn't have a knock on during a key moment in every game he plays...

now the trials are done and dusted, i'd say that the round 1 team will look like:

01. Hoffman
02. Beale
03. Reed
04. Hodges
05. Yow Yeh (if fit, Gagai if not)
06. Norman
07. Wallace
08. Hannant
09. McCullough
10. Civoniceva
11. Glenn
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Hunt
15. McGuire
16. Gillett
17. Te'o
