I would start the 2012 season with this team (assuming all players are fit)

01. Josh Hoffman
02. Gerard Beale
03. Jack Reed
04. Justin Hodges
05. Jharal Yow Yeh
06. Peter Wallace
07. Ben Hunt
08. Ben Hannant
09. Andrew McCullough
10. Josh McGuire
11. Alex Glenn
12. Sam Thaiday (c)
13. Corey Parker

14. Matt Gillett
15. Petero Civoniceva
16. Ben Te'o
17. Dave Hala

some notes.

I think McGuire should be rewarded for his good form towards the end of 2012, and as Civo is getting on in years would probably play less game time i think that he would be a handy player to bring on after the initial onslaught to keep our momentum going after the first 20 mins.

I don't want to see a hooker rotation in 2012. I think it is time Macca started playing the full 80min s as most of the top hookers do.

I think Wallace should be moved to #6 as i think it is a more natural position for him and Hunt is a more natural 7. I also think is is time for Wallace to take a leading role in the Broncos attack. he played well this season supporting Locky, now with a new half he needs to take the dominant role.

I think that even without Locky in 2012, we will have a team capable of coming in the top 4. (in fact for those of you watching the Sunday Roast before the GF, you will have noticed that 2 of the 4 panel members (including Gould) tipped us to be in the GF next year)

That's the side I'd go with although 17 could easily be Baptiste.

I'm going to go slightly left field.

01. Josh Hoffman
02. Dane Gagai
03. Jack Reed
04. Justin Hodges
05. Jharal Yow Yeh
06. Gerrard Beale
07. Peter Wallace
08. Ben Hannant
09. Andrew McCullough
10. Petero Civoniceva
11. Alex Glenn
12. Sam Thaiday (c)
13. Corey Parker

14. Matt Gillett
15. Ben Hunt
16. Ben Te'o
17. Dave Hala

Gerrard Beale at 6 because I think you have to put your best 13 on the field. Or even further afield, I've heard Hoffy isn't a bad 5/8.

Dane Gagai because he is the next big thing for Brisbane. Has a greater range of skills than Dale Copely.

The Broncos performance in the preliminary final this year was like the Storm's in the 2006 GF. It will galvanise them. They won't go into the next big stage underdone or fearful of being able to be in the contest without Darren Lockyer.

Broncos will win the premiership next year if they get the halves combination right before the Origin period. I trust that Griffin will make the right decision. I wonder what WB would have done in the same predicament?

2013 and beyond, we will have to shed some of this talent pool methinks and the window will be closed again.

I just can't see Ben Hunt, Corey Norman, Gerrard Beale, Dale Copley and Dane Gagai hanging around at the Broncos playing out of position.

Joking aside, my preferences on the likely solutions for the halves dilemma is:

FIRST
6.Wallace
7.Hunt
14. Baptiste

SECOND
6. Beale
7. Wallace
14. Hunt

THIRD
6.Norman
7.Wallace
14. Hunt

At this stage I can't really argue with Foordy's team so I won't.

Although I would have Baptiste on the bench instead of Dave Hala. Without Locky we'll need as many attacking options as possible and from what I've seen of Baptiste he's quicker than McCullough out of dummy half. Could even look at having both on the field at the same time for some periods and just launch an all out attack up the middle with speed and footwork.

2012 is going to be one of the most exciting seasons in history IMO... I really look forwarding to seeing what Griffin has in store for the halves and for our style of play.. Special vibes are certainly at Red Hill at the moment.

I'm envisaging our 2012 season to be someone like the Storm's this year. The stability and consistency that comes with Hook will ensure we are successful throughout the home and away season. Without Locky I just can't see us shifting into that extra gear to be competitive in the finals. Our premiership window was briefly open for one season, now it has slammed shut; at least for another.

IMO 15 of our top 17 is a given. The numbers they wear on their back is something for Hook to work out, and of course dependent on who grabs the remaining 2 places.

Hoffman
Beale
Reed
Hodges
Yow Yeh
Wallace

McGuire
Macca
Petero
Hannant
Thaiday
Glenn
Parker
Gillett
Teo

Those right in the mix

Hala
Anderson
Hunt
Norman
Baptise
Gagai
Copley

The bolters:

Kahu
Lui
Dodds
Frei

I still remember Hunt having a blinder at 6 in the game v the Raiders to finish off the season in 2010. He did really well. Think he should probs get first crack.

All I will say is Wallace has a lot of pressure on him, I would kill for DCE or Johnson right now.

I'm hoping we find someone unexpected again. Similar to Reed this year and Gillett last year.

Perhaps we should begin the search on Bribie Island.

*I'm going to assume Hodges will be injured in training prior to the season starting.

godamn, we have so much depth, yet massive questions over 2 positions.

Love Foordy's team, but expect Norman to be given the first go, and Hunt will be on the bench, probably ahead of Hala.

Perhaps if we move Hunt and Norman there, erase records of their existance at the club then "discover them and sign them" that might do the trick for the halfback or 5/8th problem hey?
