Well TBH how much confidence do we really have in Norman or Hunt anyway. Both have played first grade this year yet we opted for a backrower in the 6 in a crucial finals match.

No doubt but if Hook was confident in either one of them you would think they would have got the gig.

I hope Hook will have a shortlist no greater than 2 candidates by the time we start the trials, otherwise we may be in strife when the comp commences...

Our game plan was obviously based on defence so we opted for a strong defender. Sadly the fantastic discipline we'd shown all year for some reason just disappeared and it didn't work out.

This is why I don't think the Gillett selection was a mistake. We wouldve won if we defended as well as we had all year.

I wasn't a fan of the Gillett selection but agree it wasn't a mistake to make the selection. I just think if Hook had confidence in Norman or Hunt they would have got the gig.
