No times a million.

Carlaw cannot provide us with anything we don't already have.

He would just chew up coin that we could spend better on young players.

Last time I saw Carlaw at the Broncos he was playing in the front row wasn't he???

Well, maybe at the start of 2007 he was but at the back end he was on the bench. He had a real chance to resurrect his career but was, as always, too soft.

I'll always remember his dismal effort against Melb in 2007, something like 4 runs for 31m's. AS A PROP.

double post, someone can merge perhaps.

i'm sure you wouldn't have to look to hard to find a game where kenny, dodds and maguire posted similar stats.... if not multiple games......

no not at all, once again that comes back whether anyone has actually seen him play since he left australia, everyone on here has been saying how bad he WAS when he left, no one has said anything about what he's been performing like since he left, mainly because (and i'm going out on a limb here) but i'm willing to bet that they have absolutely no idea how he's been playing sine he left......

Considering he's playing in the competition that produced what is the crap known as the English Rugby League football team we just saw at the Four Nations, I'm willing to say it wouldn't matter how well he was playing, he'd be shit in the NRL.

You mean the same competition that produced Sam Burgess? eusa_think

1 player out of 200 eusa_think

even the premiers of the ESL would struggle to make the top 8 if they played in the NRL... and i know that they usually beat NRL sides in the WCC, but their season has already started when that game is played, where as the NRL teams have to fly to the other side of the world, and they haven't played any footy for 4 months for our teams it is a glorified trial match.

I reckon a few of their sides would've made the 8 this year...which just goes to show how bad the quality of the NRL was this year.

No Berrigan but maybe Carlaw [icon_drun

"Broncos 2006 grand final hero Shaun Berrigan is seeking an early return to the NRL next year in 2011 from British Super League club Hull.

But he is highly unlikely to be back at Red Hill with Gold Coast Titans the frontrunners ahead of North Queensland Cowboys.

Brisbane remain the frontrunners to regain ex-Test and Queensland Origin forward Dane Carlaw next season."

I'd much prefer Berrigan to Carlaw. Oh well it seems our recruitment hasn't really improved.

I'd prefer Berro too but really if Carlaw comes at a bargain basement price of NRL proportions I'd be fine with the move.

Bit of trivia. Berro and Dane debuted in the same game against Balmain in 1999. I think.

Bring back Berrigan!! He would be awesome to have. He could actually offer something in attack.

He's not even worth a dollar. I wouldn't have him for FREE. There is no space for a over the hill back rower. Maybe we can use him during Origin??? Pffft, I dunno.[/quote:127kb50p]

That's my thought, have him around during Origin time for experience.

I don't think it's a bad move if he's signed cheap and doesn't obstruct any of the young talent. The hope would be he comes in, has a good dig around training and it reminds players that they always have a spot at the Broncos.

If he reads this forum hes probably sitting there thinking "awww these guys are so mean. well i will show them!!!"

It will be just like that time in pre season 2004 when he was copping a lot of taunts of not trying in 2003 and he came out saying "i'm gonna try as hard as i can" only to have the worst season of his career.

No thanks to Dane Carlaw.

Yes please to Berro.

An interesting snippet from the Fox Sports article on Inglis.
The NRL blocks Greg Inglis's move to South Sydney after Russel Crowe's comments on Jay Leno
.........
The Rabbitohs would have to shed several blue-ribbon stars, headlined by club skipper Roy Asotasi and Maroons Origin forward Dave Taylor, to keep Inglis in 2011. It remains unclear if Souths are willing to do so.

I don't think many clubs would be stupid enough to shed those players for a fat, lazy centre, but if anyone is stupid enough, Souths would be, and would we then be in a position to strike to get DT back?????
