He's extended until end of 2013. You'd think if he wasn't in the starting side mid year this year he'd leave, since his current contract was until end of 2012.

The fact he's signed another year suggests he's keen to cement himself a spot.

My biggest problem with Hunt/Wallace pairing is that neither of them seem very creative. They seem more the type of players who guide the team around, but creating something isn't their strongest area. Norman seems like the opposite, very Lockyer-like in his early days.

I agree. When Hunt matures the confidence to use the skills and vision he showed he has throughout his junior career. And when Norman matures to not fade away in games which are tight.
While both are still trying to get those bits of their game right, Wallace's experience is needed.

I mean a high quality attacking half back would be a premiership. In saying that I can't see Cronk leaving the Storm....ever.

In any case, I agree with putting talks with Wallace on hold regardless of the situation with Cronk. If Hunt and Norman kick on I'd say bye bye to Wallace anyway.

Wallace is one of our most important re-signings this year. He's crucial to the success of our footy team and whoever is paired with him in the halves.

Wallace has the creativity of a concrete slab.

He definitely improved last season, but he needs to do more IMO. He's okay playing alongside someone like Lockyer who has the ability to conjure up something out of nothing, but if he's going to be paired with one of the rookies (Hunt and Norman), he has to increase his attacking arsenal.

I remember his first season with us, he was excellent. No idea what's happened, but he just looks like a completely different player nowadays... as if he's adjusted his game.

I disagree, when the pressure is on Wallace rarely gets his cross-field bombs and grubbers into the in-goal right. Happened again, again and again in the game against the Sea Eagles...

I wouldn't hold the Sea Eagles game against Wallace.

It's like holding the 09 Prelim against Lockyer. There isn't much you can do when your halves partner can't organise.
