Player Movements and Rumours 2012

I could live without him. our forwards and outside backs are very good atm. lets get our halves situation sorted first.

I expect both Te'o and Beale to be playing elsewhere in 2013. More money and greater opportunities usually win out in the end. I hope we keep them both because they both add to our side.

Taylor in the second half of last year was almost unstoppable, at his age and with his talent I'd have him bavk in a heartbeat!

agreed. get rid of the cap altogether, or put it at like 10 mil or something really high

The cap definitely needs to be a lot higher but not sure it matters too much in this instance. NFL cap is like $120mil and you still see players leave their first team for the $$$$ or a starting chance. For Teo in particular I wouldn't be surprise to see him want to leave for that reason. Our pack is very deep.

Yeah, you can pay them all you want, but if they're not going to get the minutes they'll look elsewhere.

We are 'always' linked to nearly every player.

We don't want to sign that dumb piece of ####.

ROFL! The guy is a grade A moron. We wouldn't waste time with him with our forward stocks.

He's not even the best young forward at Manly. James Cunningham has more upside.

On Teo - whoever gets him will pay overs. He has shown his best footy is coming off the bench as part of a very strong forward rotation. He is a very good player when given all favours. Throw him into a weaker pack where he is expected to play 80 minutes and IMO he won't be nearly as effective.

I can see Beale leaving if given good $$$ and a chance to play fullback.

You'll find most players aren't as effective after playing eighty minutes, Te'o is a monster and will show it again this year.

Disagree m1c.

Te'o's best season was behind a pack of Anderson, Kenny & Dodds where he played the majority of game time and was effective in both departments.

In a back row rotation with Thaiday, Parker and Gillett though. He's not the danger-man that defences number up on, or take extra care with. Throw him in a team where he's the go to man and, just as many others, he would struggle. Asotasi comes to mind. Defensively - many of his plays, whilst awesome, would have the coach cursing black and blue. One out shoulder chargers are bloody risky. Good on him for having the knack to pull them off more often than not, I'm just not sure this is a value that should be rated as highly as it is on here.

I think he's a good player, just that his next contract will be overs.

As good as our backrow was, it wasn't strong enough to dominate other packs consistently and it was generally in matches where he struggled that Te'o tended to shone. Hell, last year our pack was infinitely stronger than our 2010 pack and if anything it had a negative effect on Te'o's game. So I really can't agree with your assertion.

Also, I don't think there's a pack in the NRL that would consider Ben Te'o a 'go-to' player. Even teams like Penrith would have Lewis, Grant & McKendry supporting him.

Last year was a write off with his arm. This year will depend upon if he's regained confidence in it. Look, I hope we keep him because he is probably the best hole running forward we have, I can just see him asking for a little too much though.

He also started at prop for a few games and did a decent job. Close to our most aggressive forward and easily our biggest hitter.
