Player Movements and Rumours 2012

I'd say Beale would be keen on opportunity to be full time fullback and the extra coin. it is just human nature. Hopefully he stays for this season at least.

Yeah, but as Ari said, they've already got a long-term fullback in Tedesco, provided he fully recovers from his injury.

You're right though, no doubt if another club came to him offering a spot at fullback, he'd be extremely interested.

The kiwi connection might also help the Tigers in getting Beale. Benji and Blair might be giving him a call.

I really hope we can keep beale for at least a few more years ..... he is a gun !!

Unfortunately though, he would be so suited to the Tigers ... and i'm pretty sure he'd rather be a full time fullback than a winger.

Anyone heard this **** about Kris keating being chased by us and the warriors? **** I hope not, the guy is useless.

i think it would be unlikely we (or even the Warriors for that matter) would be chasing him unless as a depth signing. he wouldn't beat out either our hooker or halves for a spot

I don't understand why we'd have him for a depth signing either... that's why we got Capewell? Just would seem like a waste of salary cap dollars which could be better spent elsewhere, or saved for someone more useful... or saved for retaining some of up and comers.

The Bulldogs, however, will first need to address Keating's immediate future.

A source close to Keating last night confirmed the City Origin representative had received separate phone calls from Warriors and Broncos players after being omitted from the Bulldogs starting side in the first two rounds.

Canterbury CEO Todd Greenberg was unaware of the approaches when contacted last night and declined to comment.

However, it's unlikely the Bulldogs would release Keating without significant compensation after they denied identical advances for Ben Roberts 12 months ago.

How idiotic are the Bulldogs that they want compensation for releasing a player. Dead set numptys IMO. I can't see why we would want Keating strange rumour IMO.

Why would the PLAYERS be negotiating contracts anyway?

Why would the PLAYERS be negotiating contracts anyway?

Exactly!

If people took the time to actually read the article they'd see that it was PLAYERS calling Keating and media have just made it into a useless story to fill the paper!

If our halves cant deliver with the side we have, I can see us punting Te'o and Beale (along with Petero retiring) to make way for Cronk.

What about the other Cooper?

I'd rather a proven gun halfback, Wallace can play at 6.

Wallace is great in defence but hardly has a clue in attack, hit-ups and short balls out of indecision happen way too often.

Ideally I think we'd all like to see Cronk come up here (well except PWA) but the chances would have to be pretty slim and it almost seems like he's made up his mind to stick with the Storm. With that said, I don't know how a Cronk/Wallace situation would perform. IMO, Cronk is just a superior version of the Wallace type halfback. Not really flashy but ticks all the other boxes.

Quade seems more likely...although he'd be a far bigger risk and I don't know whether or not I'd like to have him. He's not my type of player despite his obvious talent.

Whatever happened to that Barnes rumour? Did he pledge his loyalty to Union?

Daly Cherry-Evans was tonight denied a release from his contract with Manly. Apparently he and his manager believe he is grossly underpaid by the club, saying he is on less money than some Toyota Cup players!!

They are still going to try and sort something out - reckon there is a chance he gets granted a release and is lured back up to his home state to play for the Broncos??

DCE has asked Manly for an early release, maybe it's just the next move by his manager to show they mean business but any club looking for a quality 7 will be sniffing around for sure.

Ok so I was looking for a link and Jeb beat me to it.

I hope this plays out our way, and if the rest of the info that came with the story is accurate then Manly are flat broke and may struggle to keep him.

Not the right thread but they also put it on Gasnier about a rumor of Brett Stewart being close to signing with Sts. When the camera went to him he was red as a beetroot before composing himself and denying any knowledge then said where there's smoke there's fire.

Sounds like Manly could struggle to keep there side together past this year.
