Player Movements and Rumours 2012

i would be stoked if norman was our FB in 2013.

Agreed. I think the team isn't far off and if we are not going to recruit we need to rejig. I have loved Normans work a fb and as many have said with our current halves we need a fullback that can add some playmaking. Maybe a 'reverse locky' will work.

I mean for mine this is a winning side.

1. Norman
2. Copely
3. Hoffman/Reed (depending on form)
4. Hodges
5. JYY or maranta if JYY doesn't come good
6. Wallace
7. Hunt
8. Hannant
9. Macca
10. McGuire
11. Glenn
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Baptiste/gillett (based on whether macca can do 80)
15. Gibb
16. Hala
17. Frei/J Wallace/dodds/Whitchurch

I don't think it was much of a coincidence that we almost beat the Storm and Dogs with Norman at fullback and looked worse with Hoffman at fullback. I still think Hoffman on the wing could work, but unless Alex Glenn is his centre or we sign Matai or SKD he probably won't be interested.

LOL.

I don't rate Norman in the 17, at all. On 2012 form, I don't rate Hoffman in the 17 at all either... but I can't help remember how good Hoffman was in 2010-11.

I'd prefer a fit and in form Hoffman, a specialist fullback, than just trying to squeeze Norman into a position where we get the most value out of his limited playmaking abilities.

I second that .. guy was top of the pops a few years ago on the dreaded 'most overrated player' poll .. looked like a promising five eighth in his first year or two but has become more and more 'wooden' ever since .. he seems to be in complete denial about his lack of suitability in the halves too - kicks up a stink whenever he's selected in the backrow and inevitably gets his way and is moved back to #6.

Comes across as a real tryer and a decent team guy but he shouldn't be considered as a 5/8 anymore ...

That's how I see it too.

It's obvious Anasta had talent but not enough to compensate for his lack of vision. To me, he's been all promise and little delivery and I don't see how he'd be the missing link or how you'd want 10 years of mediocre football.

I don't even rate him as a leader. He certainly couldn't get the boys to behave off the field and there were way too many times they surrendered so easily under his guidance.

There's always room for solid halves in the NRL but I don't want them at the Broncos.

As for Norman at fullback, still don't see a whole lot in it. For mine, Hunt moving to halfback made the biggest difference. Norman just isn't reliable enough at the back and that's of most importance.

I think he lacks heart. He's got the skill but just doesn't push hard enough to make it work each week.

That and he's a giant skirt.

yeah this. he's got that young ego thing going on. he needs a kick up the ass or some kind of wake up call. he's got talent if he wants to use it. too busy livin 'the good life' at the moment. at least thats how it comes across.

doubt they could afford to and stay under the cap... since thats the reason they released Prince

He hasn't played first grade yet. Hard to see him blowing the budget

Still a rumour of us signing Milford from the Raiders.
