hes achieved quite alot in his first season, bringing along guys that will be the backbone of the club for years to come, McCullough, Yow Yeh, Glenn, McGuire, Winterstein.... I couldnt fault the way these guys performed in their first season and wouldnt swap them for anyone... Makes winning a comp that much sweeter when it isnt bought... Showed stones letting a few established guys leave but Henjak knew what he had coming through and has been vindicated....

Great Post!
I agree with this 100%!

This is the exact reason I hate when the broncos buy players.

Agreed, but when we're so short on front row stocks there isn't really another option. It's such a shame that we have idiots who thought it was a good idea to sell the likes of Taylor.

but thats the thing. when they let Taylor go he was doing NOTHING and wasnt playing to the hype.

I realise that but IMO the potential he showed at times should have been enough for us to take a punt on him.

yeah but not a punt as big as its said that Souths did.

It really makes me sad that a player with the potential of Taylor has gone to a club as pathetic as Souths.

With regards to Taylor if we had matched Souths offer of 250k a season at the time the made it most people would have been up in arms about it and calling for Cullens head. because he was lazy and unfit on the field and made very little impact at all. also from all reports he was very lazy at training as well.

I also think he is afraid of hard work. towards the end of the season when he was playing well he was still afraid to take the ball up the middle and do the hard yards. he was only prpared to run a small guys like Soward. when you are the biggest prop in the world like Taylor is you should be running up the guts and not expecting guys 10-20kgs lighter doing the hard work while you get the glory

I agree with the bolded.

Did you ever think he was instructed to run wide? It would be idiotic to tell him not to. The thing is Taylor was running up the guts for the first half of the season(when he has playing bad) and as soon as he got moved out wide as a very wide running second rower he was fantastic.

Info about McGuire - big offer from Canterbury bulldogs, which he knocked back to stay with the broncos for another 2years (there is no intention for him to play 1st grade this year, but wait and get more experience in reserve grade

The worry is family looks like they are going down south which could mean he follows them down...

Considering he played 14 games this season and the lack of front rowers next season, I doubt he will spend the season in reserves.

How the hell can Bulldogs put in a big offer for him? They basically bought a team this year and they have bought more for next yr. How is it possible they have money to throw at him?

I was surprised as well, but I guess they have cash with Hazem off, along with eastwood and others I'm sure - tell you what though, serious offer they made him, surprised he turned it down, good to see a bit of loyalty

Yeah but El Masri can't have been on that much he was only a winger. And you would think signing Steve Turner would basically take up the money he was on. And signing Halatau and Paea would definately well cover Eastwood. Halatau would probably be on the same as Eastwood. Patten has to be on a decent salary, signing Kimmorley, Hannant, Ennis and Morris this year has to take up a bit. It is just surprising we seem to be struggling for money under the cap and we just seem to lose players yet souths, bulldogs and sharks can all go out and buy everything. We really need to sign Danny Williams he would be great, I know I have said it alot but he would fit into our club very well.

as i said over a month ago, Clinton has now signed with robins and it will be announced this week... work permit is the only thing holding it up...

Bronco Magazine has the buys for this year as

Rohan Ahern from the Roosters
Matthew Britt from the Radiers
Denan Kemp from the Warriors
Scott Anderson from the Storm
Matt Gillet former Broncos Colt/Qld Resident

Rohan Ahern will develop into a great player IMO.

What I saw of him in juniors and NYC has me hopeful.
