Player Movements & Rumours 2010

I would love to see Tate come back. Yes his injury concerns needs to be taken into account but he is still one of the best centres when he is on the field playing at his best. But before any serious consideration is to made, the Broncos need to see how he travels in the first half of the season and during Origin.

The only other issue though is that we have a great crop of youngsters who are ready to get a taste of NRL so it would delay their futures which may see some leave to other clubs.

The pros and the cons I guess. If Folau was to leave which I doubt I am fairly certain he is happy at the moment, than the experience of Tate would be appreciated.

If Tate wants another decent pay day, I reckon he'll need to go to England. I liked him when he played for us (although he was a frustrating player at times), but we have too much young talent in our backline to be bringing him back.

I agree. I love Tate, like seriously, but he should head to England and make some cash an have some fun, I can't see there being room in the Broncos side anyway

That cult he's in is the main threat I reckon.

Yep I am pretty sure that he needs to do his Mormon mission at some stage is the main reason that clause was put in his contract.

Like others, I loved Tate at the Broncos, but I don't want us to buy him back - we have a great crop of young backs. Tate has had his time and should head to England if anywhere away from the Warriors at this stage of his career.

Or up to North Queensland who are dying for another quality centre to partner Tonga.

I like the idea of that. A centre combo of Tonga and Tate would be quite deadly. Especially in defence.

He has said publicly that he has no intention of doing that soon. So, i doubt he will leave us to do his Mormon mission at the end of the year.

I don't think so either, I was just saying that it was that, not the potential to join another club, was the reason he had the early release cause inserted.

Well wouldn't the mean he could only leave if his decision was based on that?

Depends on the wording of the clause.

That would depend how the clause is actually written - I haven't seen his contract so I don't know. But I think it is more likely he would seek an early release to do his mission than he would to play for another NRL club.

Or to go play that orsm rugby union game where wingers see so much of the play

"CANTERBURY prop Ben Hannant is considering asking for an early release from his Bulldogs contract.
The Daily Telegraph reports Ben Hannant and his wife Emma - who both come from the Gold Coast - are homesick.

It is understood the Gold Coast Titans have expressed preliminary interest in Hannant, should the Dogs agree to a release.

The Courier-Mail last week revealed the Broncos were plotting operation "Buy Back Benny", with Test prop Hannant emerging as the club's No.1 recruitment target.

Hannant, off contract after 2011, will play for Canterbury in tomorrow night's match against St George Illawarra at WIN Stadium, Wollongong."

Would be interesting to see out of both clubs who has more salary cap space to even think of paying the huge cost to sign Hannant.

titans have no cap space, they said only last week they had 200 bucks left... IF he is released he will be playing for the Broncos... the timing is interesting in that an article claiming the broncos were after hannant for 2011 provided he can get a release came out last week... the broncos must have heard the rumors and approached him...

I hope The Titans can snap up the greedy clown, the Broncos don't need props bad enough to pay his ransom.

i hope the titans cant afford him and we get him on the cheap - might happen if he's THAT desperate to live in SE Qld
