Player Movements / Rumours 2011/2012

No precedence has been set at all, SBW does not begin back with rugby league until February...after which time he will not be playing rugby. This is a ridiculous article prompted by greedy managers...hasn't the argument been that our top players already play too much football in each calendar year? Make up your minds ppl???

Yes, but they play too much football and don't make enough money (apparently). So this way Benji can make a fortune playing Japanese rugby, and still collect his NRL pay even though he'll probably miss half the season with injury.

Whilst I agree that it is not exactly the same situation, there is still a very big precedent being set here

It is that you do not need to attend pre-season training, and that your obligations to the club commence a few days/weeks prior to round 1

The SBW thing and all other thinking about similar (like Benji, Hoppa, etc.) can be ended with this simple ruling; when signing for a club your contract and obligations commence with pre-season training

Exceptions of course only for mid-season transfers (which I wish also were banned)

Quade Cooper has apparently quit rugby..which team(s) can fit him under the cap?

I honestly could not think of a team that could, but rest assured some team will be able to, somehow... probably the roosters or titans

If anything I'd think those two teams would be part of a list least likely to have the available cap space..1

in reality yes, my point was they always sem to have cap space when a star comes up...the bulldogs and eels could be added to that list

THE NRL is refusing to register the new contract of NSW Origin fullback Brett Stewart because the Sea Eagles are in breach of next year's $5 million salary cap by $300,000.

LOL.

Buy Stewart for next year?
Nah he's a dick :)

Their recruitment sounded way too good to be true.

Mind you, I thought they were about to let go of Kite & Wolfy?

Well I don't like him but if we did sign him and he won us a few games I'd immediately forget everything I dislike about him haha

I wouldn't forget why I dislike him. (maintain the rage) hehehe

Snake is one player I would continue to hate, despite him wearing broncos colours.

Things are not that bad that we should even be considering this clown
