POST GAME POST GAME [Round 6, 2023] Broncos vs Raiders

You dont win games when you probably have a good 14 or 15 players off it. Its another one of those games where they didnt play poorly, just ordinary but this time around we didnt have 2 or 3 players step up for 10-15 min spells to turn things around.
They all stepped up for the last 20 but the raiders held on by a thread. It was good to watch for the last 20 I thought. Shame how it ended but I think the boys will be better for the loss

Having said all of this, was that post true about a betting agency offering $4 for a Broncos win? That sort if shit just gets me off-side, even if the max bet is capped. The objective is for the betting company to lose thousands, but get a whole lot of people registering accounts, which is well worth it in the long run. But why this game, especially now that we saw what happened...?
Are you saying the Broncos threw the game?

As much as I don't wanna go back and watch this game again, I am at least keen to see the bomb that Walsh put up that Kris made a big return from. I was busy ball-watching and didn't watch our chase (or lack thereof), what the hell happened there?
That was the moment of the second half there. Brisbane rolling down-field, Walsh puts the bomb up and nobody is really steaming down. If I was doing a video session I'd spend 20 minutes on that alone.

The other 40 minutes would be Haas working a play with Carrigan on play 4 when Patty is cooked and has no sense of direction. Just so many issues could be addressed on those two key plays alone.

I do think he got it wrong. About 15 mins for Pat came off he could barely run. He should have bought Pat off when Payne came back on. He was having an ordinary game by his standards and we still had enough bench players not to run him into the ground.
Thanks @Wolfie exactly, my point. We’re on the same train(Patty’s). Had Kobe’s in the squad tonight instead of a no use Palasia, our middle would’ve performed differently & we definitely would’ve walked away with a W inspite of Atkins’ continued attempts in screwing us.

I think our tackling was poor tonight as well. So many of their players we failed to wrap up, they just bounced off us.

That passage where we were attacking in their 20 and were awarded 4-5 set restarts in a row, at what point does the ref just blow a penalty and send a player to the bin or at least give the Raiders a stern warning?
I just feel like the refs are clueless when it comes to policing these blatant tactics to infringe whenever a team is under pressure and defending on their line

and you think they played as shit as the last few games?

their forwards played better than anything I've seen this year and the players they missed haven't been at their best this year as well.
They played well. Still a shit side.

“Didn’t watch the game and half no idea what happened, are you sure everyone isn’t wrong?”

Nice contribution.
Everybody else had a much more measured response. Go and change your tampon mate, you’ve been using the same one since I joined bhq.

Oddly, I actually think tonight was Palasia's best game so far.

I still think they are probably doing the right thing holding back Kobe a little. We have been playing well tbf so no need to change things. A performance like this give Kevvie some food for thought now.

Are you saying the Broncos threw the game?

He's saying the bookies knew the result before the game, make of that what you will. It is a bit suspicious, why not do that promo last week when we were similar odds to win the game? Why tonight?

I have seen it a lot from bookies, they throw up these odds which just looks so absurdly juicy that you would have to be a fool to not have a bet, next thing you know..

Carrigan is garbage?

Excuse Me What GIF by Bounce
Sorry, but he played like it tonight.

Constantly lolly-gagging around in the middle not actually doing anything. Got in his prop forward runners way at least 3 times I saw tonight to the point they ran into him. He had no business being there and was just playing lazily and stupidly, unfortunately.

We didn't chase hard and were staggered. Terrible and imo the turning point.

I would say we left at least 3 tries out there and gave up a very soft one to Rapana.
Herbie missed at least 2 opportunities to give it to Arthars with space...
We looked a little off and Raiders came to play.
It might be the kick up the butt the team needed.

I can’t believe how many of the Raiders players were jumping out of their line quickly late in the 1st half & most of 2nd half is beyond me. Atkins just decided to ignore it. Though he blew couple of 6A’s one after the other after 1st tackle, his reffing is appalling & disgraceful especially, the last 15min of game.
