POST GAME POST GAME [Round 8, 2023] Broncos vs Eels

there is no reward for a legs tackle the second they hit the ground they call for movement if you were allowed to hold the legs a bit similar to when they call dominant players would soon be doing that.
My biggest dislike in the game.
If they reffed the rule instead of this interpretation of dominance etc then the attacking player would have to get to their feet and play the ball with their foot, not roll it and wave their foot at it, then the natural flow of the game would sort itself out.

We need be be prepared to be without Haas for a month ... the media have gone into overdrive on the Haas tackle. and we all know the NRL base their decisions on the media's coverage
Frankly The Broncos Club should come out and publicly be blowing up Royally about these absolute Bullshit calls and bias towards us . We should malign THEM and the shit media ,I mean FMD we could have a highlight reel of Klowns, calls just for one. **** the fine, Stand up Broncos, this shit, like the Flegler tackle last year is designed to hobble us for sure. Klien is the one who should be on report. **** the NRL.

Corey Oates was immense last night.......hard to believe that was his first game back after a broken jaw.

I was on the Arthars train too.......

I loved how on a few of the restarts after points he looked for a charging prop and just decided, Nah, **** it, I'll do it myself.

Please god can we stop talking about the 'hip drops' and talk about THE FUCKING CHAMPAGNE RUGBY LEAGUE that was Ezra on the inside and flick passing it onto Reynold's chest to go under the posts!!!!!!

Cleary or Nicho do that and they're instant immortals. Consider Nicho's blindside try last round where he threw a dummy and set up the try. Good play but never heard the end of it.

For ***** sake that Reynolds Mam play was as good a bit of league I've seen in a long, long time. Right up there with Milf, Hunt, McCullough in the 2015 Prelim against Roosters.

I loved how Mam and Walsh were celebrating before Reyno even made it over the line. Would have looked bad had he spilled it or fucked up putting it down but it's the kind of confidence and swagger this team hasn't played with since 2015.

Ezra Mam is still so young so he's going to drift in and out of games. But boy when he's on he can just break the line at will. If he continues to develop ( which many of them dont) he could be special.

As many have said we continue to win despite not playing 80 mins of footy. And that's ok, but there will always be the question of do we have an 80 minutes performance in us? As long as we continue to learn and build I'm satisfied with how we are playing.

A big one from me is everytime we look like world beaters and play good footy its when Reynolds is playing good footy. I hope like hell management are out there sourcing or planning who our next halfback is because as far as I'm aware without a genuine 7 you you're not a contender.

The final thing is whoever replaces Herbie next year has a hell of a job ahead of them. The guys work ethic, tough carries and general meters made is huge for us. How many hit ups a week and what kind of meter's is Mariner making in q cup?

Now that was Great first half wet weather footy. Really pleased with the grit shown by our team . One of many but how was Shaun Lane's absolute ruck infringement on Arey trying to play the ball, it's just so typical of Klowns numerous bias calls against us. And not one commentator calls this C*** out ever. Very impressed tonight, great win boys ,great effort in absolute shit conditions. Let's Go Broncos And suck that Gutherson.
I know the commentating is as 1 sided anti Bronco as you can get, but they did call this one out at the time. Several comments about how that was a Bronco penalty, Eels just lucky to have the ball etc.

What`s wrong with the old school lock your arms and slide down to the calves and pull their ankles together ?
All this BS about what else could they do ? Do what worked in the past .

Yes the tackler may end up on the ground after the tackle . But the argument that , that a hip drop is the only resort is not genuine .
I think that's not the argument, the argument is really about what constitutes a hip drop.

The most ridiculous thing, actually totally incomprehensible, was the Fox commentators saying that Ezra's and Payne's tackles were "identical". Fkn what? Are their eyes painted on? They were incredibly different tackles.

I actually quite liked her on channel 9, she had independent thoughts back then. These days I think she just says what she’s told to say by her producer.
nahh....she's a ****.

How about Reece Walsh last night ?
He was pretty mehh for mine last night.
Easily the worst of the backline Broncs players....... didn't seem to be in sync with anyone.

Haas and Mam 1 week, Hopgood a fine. That'll do me. But having said that, give them the week off. I still think neither were chargeworthy but was honestly expecting worse.

there is no reward for a legs tackle the second they hit the ground they call for movement if you were allowed to hold the legs a bit similar to when they call dominant players would soon be doing that.
They should make a legs tackle ......a dominant tackle.

They should make a legs tackle ......a dominant tackle.
Just allow someone to flop up top if a legs tackle is called... or allow a legs tackle to hold on longer so the defensive line can be set.

It will look weird at first, but if the ref yells out "legs" and then release after a delay... the public will pretty quickly catch on ... same as when someone is held down longer we now realise it was a surrender tackle

Mam will have to accept his suspension but no way we can't challange Haas's charge. Haas should have never been charged and we would be crazy not to take it to the mrc.
