POST GAME POST GAME [Round 8, 2023] Broncos vs Eels

agree lol even reverse it dont give alot of time for the 3 player + wrestle tackles
They're already not meant to allow longer for 3 man tackles, but they 'tangle' themselves up and then peel themselves off one at a time.

They make it look like they're trying, by constantly moving, but they're just slowing it all down.

@ParraMania Get in here bud. This thread needs you.

Thats complete rubbish, out of all 3 of the tackles Hopgood's tackle had the most intention and Haas's was the most accidental.

Agreed .
Hopgood jumped his feet of the ground . Ezra tried to keep his feet but , just got dragged . And Payne freak accident . RCG ducked under , Payne fell on him and he did the splits .

Interesting Kevvie specifically mentioned Mariner waiting in the wings again. I do wonder what our plan is with him for this season and beyond with Arthars there also.
Oates doesn't have that many years left. Herbie is off next year.

Seems like an easy fit / succession plan to me.

Vonny thinks you can get some sort of "black and white" rule regarding hip drops...I mean are you fucking kidding me? Tackles are spontaneous and unpredictable by their very nature. Don't be a reactionary moron just because you have a camera on you.
Yep she's as dumb as dogshit

so will haas and mam be suspended for next game?
Of course they will.. the NRL has to make a sacrifice to the gods of ‘we don’t want to frighten the parents of little Johnny from enrolling him in junior league’
🙄

What a fucking joke. Hopgood was the only player who actually had the hip drop motion and he's only facing a fine? MRC is wearing their clown shoes this week.

Of course, we're facing a resurgent Souths this week. The script has been written.

I would love to know what exactly Payne was meant to do on that tackle? This is getting absolutely ridiculous, just turn it to touch. The only thing Payne could have done different is step aside and let him score.
It has reached the stage now where it is preferable from a game management & suspension point of view to just drop off or miss tackles
It’s Embarrassing

Because Mam's done virtually nothing this season so far. He had a good game tonight but come on, it was one pass. Cleary and Hynes are fucking on it for 80 mins and WON matches for their teams pretty much single handily.

Uttering Mam's name amongst those two guys is a bit of an insult to be honest. Will he be as good? Possibly but he's not ATM.
Come on man. Mam's done nothing this season?
Not saying he's as good as those two at all. Just pointing out the wank-fest over the stars doing good plays v one play by a player several years younger and way more inexperienced than both of the 2 I mentioned, that absolutely lit it up.

there is no reward for a legs tackle the second they hit the ground they call for movement if you were allowed to hold the legs a bit similar to when they call dominant players would soon be doing that.
Maybe the reward atm is you aren't penalised and sitting in the bin for 10 mins for a hip drop while your team concedes tries. I guess in some sense the attacker should gain an advantage.. he's broken the line and should be rewarded with a quick ptb too.

Didnt watch the game but seen the incidents. Dont think any were overly bad but i didnt think Pats was overly bad last year and he got shafted. In the currently climate they just arent tolerating any challenge remotely like that. Payne was lucky he didnt get binned really considering the implementation of the rules around this.

These hip drops now are a nonsense. I wouldnt have given any of them last night. Shit like this is already driving me away from watching NRL, and i reckon i wont be the only one. Havent watched a game since the first ones of the last round. They are ruining the game.

I'm not asking anyone to trust me bro, but to simply look at the facts. He's dumb, everyone keeps saying it but following it up with "but he's young". I don't care how young he is and I don't think it's an excuse. I am worried about his drive, that's all my source has told me, as well as the reason he went home last year which I was copping shit before I even stated. He comes off his wing too often, which is being excused by some of you as the game plan, which just isn't the case. He didn't even bother attempting a catch the other week, one of the weakest things I have ever seen on a footy field.

Saying I don't know who you are after you have said I was deluded, talking about my ego, saying I don't have half a clue and that I don't even watch the sport I coach is entirely what you've just accused me of doing. Ad hominem attacks attempting to belittle me instead of arguing against the points I have made. So please, stop being a hypocrite and kindly **** off. Good night
Genuine question Cult, why are you so worried about Selwyn, their have been a number of young Indigenous rugby league players that have seriously gone off the rails over the years, were you also worried about them? I reiterate to you, this is a genuine question, because it is a comment you regularly make about Selwyn Cobbo.

They will suspend Haas and Mam and we will still beat them and show we can still win with players missing. What will NSWRL do then?
