You're not serious are you? Fucken stupid talk. Mind you Selwyn is good at that but Selwyn is in a different stratosphere to Deine having a good game against arguably nearly a BRL side.
I have no doubt Sproj has seen more of Mariner than this one game.

I like Mariner on the wing; I think his best games have been on the wing for Wynnum. Wynnum do a good job of using his strengths and working on his areas to improve.

Has such big powerful legs and so fast off the mark. He’s uncatchable over 40m.

What he hasn't been doing is dummy half work and kick returns- Wynnum rotate him playing wing and centre so he's not returning kicks.

Broncos Team List: Pre-season v Titans

The Broncos will welcome back a host of NRL talent headlined by recruits Reece Walsh and Martin Taupau for Sunday evening’s Pre-season Challenge clash with the Gold Coast Titans at Sunshine Coast Stadium. After notching a 44-12 win in the opening trial of the 2023 season last Saturday against Wynnum with a team of emerging talent, the Broncos have named no less than 11 players from their NRL Top 30 list to play their first game of the season this Sunday.
Payne Haas will Captain the team that will also feature fullback Walsh and prop Taupau, as well as 2022 first grade regulars Kotoni Staggs, Herbie Farnworth, Ezra Mam, Thomas Flegler, Cory Paix, Corey Jensen and Billy Walters.
Jordan Pereira will start on the wing after playing five games at NRL level for the Broncos last year, with exciting young speedster Deine Mariner filling the other wing spot after impressing in last Saturday’s trial win over the Seagulls.
Also rewarded for strong performances in the opening trial with starting spots against the Titans are hard-running backrower Shalom O’Ofou, playmaker Jack Ahearn and fellow experienced Hostplus Cup performer Brendan Frei.
That looks a pretty strong lineup for a second trial... starting fullback, centres, five eight, props and hookers... and then Taupau on the bench as well. No Madden though... thought this would be the odds on trial to play him in 🤔🤔

Keen to see O'Ofou in the second row... would be nice if we had a young guy coming through that can cover middle and edge.

Where the **** is Piakura though??

Has he picked up another injury?? Bloke is made of glass

Surprised there's no Arthars... he is seriously on the outer with Kev or is he injured, playing all starts, etc. Could see him being another release / loan target

Only other one missing from a typical second trial would be Hoeter

Arthars was picked for the Maoris. Same with Riki.

I can't keep up with all the ins and outs that has been happening with that game... I think those two were picked from the voting though... although I'm not sure how

Are you Payne’s mum? You’re so angry.
Ah yes the poster who decides to turn to cheap personal shots. Lovely little bait shot to try get me angry. Cowardly and cheap but whilst it would be so easy to fight back, it is just pointless when threads derail into worthless fights over who has the bigger penis.

*Ps swearing doesn’t = anger

I actually really like Jack Ahearn but unless he is injured there is not really a forgivable reason as to why Jock wouldn't be playing this game. Excited to see all of 16 through to 22 this weekend and glad we are getting a few of the better boys playing, can't be too timid about injuries.

Edit: Payne as captain I think is good man management from Kev, Haas despite your opinions of him, on-field has always given his best for us and it a nice little reward for that as well as trying to get him to not only up his game off the field but also support him through the tough time he would be going through right now.
I think ahern there gives ezra some wisdom to lean on. Probably not going to get that with 2 young halves starting and a equally young fullback and hooker.
Im sure madden will get a shot. Just have to be patient.
I suspect there is some man-management basically saying ezra needs to keep applying himself.. It seems reasonable for both him, walsh and paix. Walters must be little concerned coming off the bench but he will still have a good chance to prove himself.

I think it was @1910 who said "Piakura = Boils" in the game chat so I think he must have boils. Can't catch a break the poor bugger. Chances are as well if he was playing last week the plan was never for him to play this week.
I missed that great m 1910. But, this bloke seems not to catch a break with something always. Every time we think he’s ready, keeps catching on something that holds him back.

Good point re Ahearn but pretty sure Madden I’d recovering from something

Corey Parker:
"Defence is a big thing for the Broncos, they were fourth with six weeks to go and failed to make the finals, that’s not good enough. They are missing some big stars but fans will be watching Reece Walsh. It’s a hotly contested spot with Herbie Farnworth and Selwyn Cobbo in the mix, so Reece will want to put his best foot forward. Payne Haas has been given the captaincy for this game, aside from the off-field stuff, his job is to play football and he’ll be excited to get out there and run the ball hard. But he’ll be fine."
"I’ve followed the Titans closely, they really need to approach this game as if it is a stepping stone. Quite frankly, they haven’t clicked over the last five years. Jayden Campbell is back fullback, there has been the chat that he can‘t play that position so with AJ Brimson available, how that unfolds will be interesting."

Yeah for sure but you know Jock is 23 in a few weeks, he has spent years plying his trade in reserve grade and has 17 NRL games to his name. The young half argument doesn't necessarily work on him anymore. Obviously having a 20 year old next to him makes it a bit more of an issue but at the end of the day Ezra might lack experience but in the eyes of the coaches and most on here he is the best half of the 3. Obviously Jack Ahearn is an incredible player for only ever having played reserve grade and he is far more capable than his inability to move up from Reggies suggests but the reality is if the pairing of Madden and Ezra would be a problem for a trial it is tough to see how we could have any success this year with Reyno's inability to stay on the field if Jack won't be there to hold Ezra's hand or Jocks for that matter. If this truly was the problem they would be more likely to pair Ezra with Rogers who is on a development contract and would be relied upon before Ahearn. I personally don't think that this is the reason for Ahearn playing and I think it's purely to get Ahearn and Rogers more game time idea. Which you know is fine but I would like Madden and Ezra to play as much time together as possible and that can't happen if he gets left out.

If they're serious about Sailor, he should get a run in the halves. We don't need him at the back.
