Please quote where I wrote that the punishment was sufficient . Yes, you are irrational as you are reacting to something not said, written or claimed. Yes, if you are unhappy with the punishment, do something about it. Start a petition, anything. As you say I'm in the minority although I never thought it was the correct punishment either. That said, just like you I don't know all the details so maybe it was correct, who knows. One thing though, stick to what I wrote and don't change that to suit your hatred or anger. Just the facts and not emotional drivel that was never claimed. Irrational, absolutely. Rational would be to respond to what I wrote, not what you changed it to.

You may not be directly saying you agree with the punishment but by arguing my opinion you're implying that their punishment for being guilty for illegal drugs was sufficient and we should all move on. Those who were in charge of that decision were wrong and as are you for agreeing with them.

1. You referred to Melbourne on page 2 as Melbin scum. Why would you do that? Is it because they cheated the cap or because of their dirty tactics? Do you think they served a sufficient punishment and should you maybe "move on"?
2. You then asked @Mr Fourex if he thought that the recovery drugs alleged to have been in use three years ago somehow is benefiting them in 2015 and the simple answer is yes due to the fact that the players did not serve the usual punishment for using illegal drugs in sport. Fact: Nobody has ever been banned 3 games for illegal drugs, the Sharks got away with it.
3. You said the Sharks were more stringently tested than any other club. Is this true or did you make it up?
4. You then said that our performance should be questioned instead of the Sharks. Weird, sounds like something a Sharks fan would say.
5. You used the word alleged when referring to their drug use, implying you still think they're innocent. No, they plead guilty. Therefore they used illegal drugs and again, they got away with it. Another reason why I was led to believe you thought the punishment was sufficient.
6. You said players acted in good faith to the club. If the players had no idea and it is 100% the clubs fault, the Sharks should have been kicked out of the comp. Again, those involved do not deserve success in the NRL because they should not be in the NRL.
7. You said it happened years ago, but if you go to prison, get found guilty do they account for the months you spent waiting for the court case when you spent most of that time in the outside world? Nope.
8. You then said I was being irrational for wanting "the current drug free team punished yet again and trying to link their gritty performance this year with the drug saga from years and years ago". Oh I'm glad that person convicted of murder hasn't murdered anyone this year, we should probably stop calling him a murderer now hey?
9. You then brought up Alfie Langer, he was arrested and more than likely paid a fine (just like everyone else who has ever committed that exact crime) which was perfectly sufficient considering the crime. Again though, throwing another Bronco under the bus? How very Sharks fan-like that is.
10. You then said the punishment was never enough. You are wrong. The same punishment as Sandor Earl would have been enough.
11. What happened years ago is directly linked to whatever success they have had this year as those who plead guilty are still playing and got away with using drugs. My issue here is hypocricy, no other team or players has received such a lenient punishment and quite frankly, it was a terrible look for our game. They brought the game I love into disrepute and got away with it, hence my anger towards them.
12. **** the Sharks. **** Paul Gallen and everyone else involved.

I understand your opinion but I don't agree. Neither of us are changing our "unthinking minds" so I'm moving on.

I never thought the punishment fitted the crime particularly well either and also thought that they got off lightly. That's not to say that it didn't hurt the Sharks just that it could have been worse. What it made me think though is that there was more to the story than what was actually revealed and some extenuating circumstances may have existed that had they seen the light of day may have painted the NRL itself in a very bad way. Of course I'll never know for sure, just a guess.

Whether or not you or I believe that the punishment was just and fair really makes no difference to this year. A higher body than you decided their fate, the time, short as it was has been served along with the fines and loss of revenue and the stigma attached to club and player alike.

I understand the anger but the people who had nothing to do with what happened years ago are being demeaned by your position. I say **** the cows and melbin and the rest. The Broncos first, a long way second the Sharks and the rest can get fucked...

Let's just say the Broncos and the Sharks played in the grand final who would you go for?

@Huge

I believe this answers your question.

Yeah...I'd probably be yelling, tackle the dog Gallen, fucking rattler ...smash Fat Fetta , bash the shit eating grinner Grahame etc. Then after we did the victory lap I'd be saying what a great job from the Sharkies, well done, commiserations etc...I like the Sharks..I fucking love the Broncos, my team

I understand the anger but the people who had nothing to do with what happened years ago are being demeaned by your position.

Yes but many still remain at the club who were involved in the rampant illegal drug taking. Until a complete and thorough cleanup up of the Club...the players and administrators takes place, the Cronulla Sharks still rightly wear the scumstain of being drug cheats. Only a hard look in the mirror will set them free.

You nailed it. Well when you highlighted the word 'were' . It's in the past, it happened years ago and its been investigated and resolved. They knowingly or unknowingly did something wrong and that has been dealt with. What you and a few others don't seem to get is that you personally don't think the punishment fitted the crime and that's valid in a sense. The Cronulla Sharks were

drug cheats, they are not now drug cheats. Allan Langer was a drunk driver but he doesn't drive drunk now.

In your first line you say many still remain at the club . That is not true . Only three players are at the club who were involved in this 4 year old event. Gallen, Tupou and Graham. That means more than twenty current Sharks players had absolutely nothing to do with it and their achievements shouldn't be denigrated by any reasonable and fair minded person.
Another thing which I'd like you to acknowledge is that the 'confessions' of guilt accepted by the NRL and ASADA all included the word 'unknowingly' used drugs. Nobody admitted doing something wrong with foreknowledge and this was accepted because both the NRL and ASADA believed that was the case. Really, after 4 years everyone should just move on like we did for Alfie

Recent history suggests either Broncos or Storm will win the premiership.

The last time a team was able to play in all 4 weeks and win was the Broncos in 2006.

The last GF that featured two teams that didn't have the week off was 2005.

We are the best team left in terms of fitness, energy, depth and speed but all that means nothing if you get stage fright on the night.

I wouldn't say we are the best in terms of speed....Hodges and Reed are pretty damn slow. Oates and Kahu are faster, but not top tier speed either. Boyd is somewhere in between.
