Prince Discussion

Re: It's time to go...

Prince's efforts to generally miss-time, lose our momentum, give the opposition an easy target and knock on at crucial stages is a hinderance and is making the job much harder than it needs to be.

Thought you weren't talking about just last night?

Re: It's time to go...

I'm disappointed by this thread after a good win.
Not even 10 mins after the game has finished Big Pete was super quick to start this thread and goes ruin my mood.
Sure Princess has been shit but what we all knew that when we signed him.

Re: It's time to go...

I like you better when we lose. You're always so happy and positive. But when we win why so negative for playa?

Re: It's time to go...

This thread isn't about me.

Stay on topic.

And that goes for everyone.

Keep this up Big Dave and I'll eventually take you off ignore (yes, yes ....I peak at your posts anyway) :tongue_smilie:

Seen better days ....for sure, but compared to the creative black hole we've had since Locky retired....I was at least optimistic about how he might go

and tbh, he's going about as good as I expected. He's always been a turnstile in defence.....other teams target him for it. I can't really question his commitment at the moment, which I think you could in the past at the Titans .....he's having a red hot crack in defence IMO. Not the biggest bloke getting around either......

I was always hopeful he could offer our attack something

I think he is. I've said it twice now and I'll say it again. Our back line hasn't looked this good in ages. Norman's involvement from the back is definitely a key aspect of that, but basically we've still got the same players there from last year and they weren't cutting it. I believe Prince is playing a role in that change.

Re: It's time to go...

As far as I am concerned, we would have lost last night without Prince and last week would have been a damn sight closer than it was.

Re: It's time to go...

I'm prepared to give him a while longer before we axe him.

If we can still win with him playing as bad as he (supposedly) is then it's not all doom and gloom.

Re: It's time to go...

I understand people not wanting to change a winning side, but I still think playing Prince is counterproductive in the long run. I don't think Hunt could be much worse, but he could easily be better. Maybe he'd give us something we currently lack to take us from a 5-8 side, to maybe top 4. But I guess we can keep playing the pensioner and wait for Hunt to join Norman in leaving, and end up with no cover.

Re: It's time to go...

I guess I must be blind, or just have a bad memory. Sigh .... the ravages of old age .... but

can someone show me some clips of try scoring assists from Hunt please, similar to those of Prince last night e.g.

You can't because he has only had a handful of games in the halves.

RE: It's time to go...

I'm sure if he got 6 games in a row. He'd manage one try assist.

Gee (whoops!) ... I can remember try scoring assists from hookers: Cam Smith, Farah, Luke, Friend ....

They aren't similar though are they. Hunt has most certainly laid on tries from hooker.

I'm sure he has, and it makes me sad that he and Macca, from what I've read, would both have made top notch halves.

As it is, they both do a good job at hooker. Question is, will it be good enough when we make the top 4

Re: It's time to go...

Nope, definitely not. We cannot win the comp with Macca playing the way he is, BUT passing quickly can be easily coached, what the frig is Griffin doing? Anways, I can see both sides of the story when it comes to Prince being dropped. I don't think anyone has the answer at the moment, but someone did say why change something when we are winning? It could ruin our confidence and we go backwards, when we start losing again (and it's bound to come) then we can look at change :) The least disruptive change would be to take Prince out and put Hunt in there. But I will say this, I think Prince is not our biggest concern, the biggest concern would be our forwards continuing this brilliant form. This is one of if not the main reason we are winning at the moment I think. With McGuire back soon surely we are looking good!!?! Come on Hannant and Thaiday, keep up the good work!

Re: It's time to go...

Why make changes to a winning team?
