Qld backline

That said, I thought his game against the Raiders was easily his best of the year. If he keeps up that level then I'm sure he'll be fine.

This. He's getting better each game. And he will continue that and I'm sure will get chosen again, and rightly so. Queensland dont drop players unless they are drastically out of form.

Yep, no dramas with that. But McGuire is knocking on the door. If you don't pick him then you're nuts. Would leave off Shillington or Scott in that case.

Nice to have this dilemma!

McGuire's time will come. It's not like we need to lock him in like NSW did with Tamou. And I have no dramas if McGuire gets picked, just not at the expense of Petero!

Lots depends on Matt Scott's fitness I guess.

Honestly, i think the only reason Civo missed selection for Australia was because of a back room deal to make sure Tamou didn't opt to play for NZ. that way Stuart can pick him for NSW

After watching the highlights of Rabbits v Cowboys I wouldn't be oposed to Inglis on the wing. I know he has made his name as a QLD player as centre. However, he would have a chance to have some open space at kick returns. I know it is a case of weakening one position to cover another, but I think QLD are well served for centres.

Considering he has played & dominated at both centre & wing for QLD, it wouldn't be a bad selection.

GI is going to dominate no matter where he plays in the outside backs, he's in his best form since game 3 last year & since The Rock just named him in his "most hated" team, I can't wait to see GI put on doubles.

Well I think they'll keep the inglis-Boyd combination down the left, despite Boyd's form.

Hodges + Tate on the right.

Only other viable option is inglis + Tonga, Hodges + Tate.

Would have Brent Tate as the front runner for that vacant wing spot. But I reckon one of the two Storm boys, either Justin O'Neill or Dane Nielsen, could be in with a chance as well. Nielsen was probably a bit off the pace in Origin when he debuted but he looks a better player than last year. And O'Neill is consistently playing on the wing for his club, something no one else seems to have in their favour.

In saying that though, Tatey is ahead of them both in my mind - he fires up for Origin like no other.

Isn't Will Chambers a Queenslander? He's been going much better than Nielsen and O'Neill, and Rocky hates him, which is obviously an important factor!

Yep, despite what his NRL form may be at the time, when has Tate ever let QLD down?

QLD has a tradition of sticking with players who have proven themselves at that level before, despite current form. If we are going to change that now, we might as well start getting sponsored by VB.

I'm beginning to think maybe qld should pick a specialist winger to replace yow yeh because NSW will have morris and uate, both good under the high ball. I cringe at the thought of tate having to defuse bombs over either of those 2. tate is a bloody brilliant, passionate and gutsy player, but we need someone to handle those bombs. carney has been putting kicks over for his wingers all year, and i can see tate struggling with those. i would go someone that plays wing each week, so as much as it pains me to say, i would pick ash graham. hey, he could turn out to be the next mogg!

I'd feel more confident of Tate catching bombs than Graham...
