QLD- will they do it?

If Hodges isn't right to go:

1. Slater
2. Folau
3. Tonga
4. Inglis
5. Boyd
6. Lockyer
7. Thurston
8. Price
9. Smith
10. Civoniceva
11. Crocker
12. Myles
13. Johnson

14. Hunt
15. Thaiday
16. Hannant
17. Costigan

Surely you'd put Hunt on the wing with Folau and Inglis in the centres.

The Hunt - Slater thing works well, why change it. Hunt is unproven on the wing, we dont want another "Hunt at 5/8th" debacle. Tonga has been there, done that, he wouldnt let us done. Folau is good on the wing in origin because we are going to need someone to stop bloody hayne

looking at Gymp's team, i see nowhere to put hannant. i think shillington has to be there, as does myles. I think it should come down to thaiday and hannant for a bench spot with myles starting

If you watched tonight's Bulldogs-Storm game, and you'd still pick Shillington over Hannant, you don't know Rugby League.

I agree Jeb, Hannant was great but over the season the have been playing at a very similar level and you would pick them both if we want to go with the extra size but if that isn't the case you flip a coin and pick one of them.

I dunno, I just don't see in Shillington what everyone else seems to. I agree he is a solid front rower but he's done nothing to leapfrog one of the incumbents IMO. If you have Myles, Hannant and Shillington all in the side, you'll lose a bit of mobility, and it really is a case of it being "that simple" that you pick Myles and Hannant.

The form Te'o has been in recently and his combination with Locky.... could he be a bolter?

He's a Kiwi isn't he?

No, eligible for QLD... it was in the paper a couple of weeks ago...the QRL thought he was a kiwi but it has since determined that he is eligible of QLD. and he has stated his desire to play for QLD

If we need to replace Hodges, Sailor or even Rogers have been in pretty good form all season, I don't see why Qld wouldn't seriously look at one of them on the wing or maybe even in the centres in Rogers' case.

lol, u really just read wat u want to dont u. i said gymps team was good, and as such couldnt find a spot for hannant, i also then said that the bench spot should come down to hannant and thaiday, and we know how i feel about thaiday. not too hard to comprehend

I know you said that, but why does it come down to Hannant and Thaiday? Hannant is a certainty, and it should be between Thaiday and Shillington, and if you can't find room for Hannant after last night's game, you don't know Rugby League.

I am finding a place for him, in place of thaiday.

IMO, the team that should be named on Tuesday to play game 1:

1. Hunt
2. Boyd
3. Inglis
4. Hodges
5. Folau
6. Lockyer
7. Prince (but i'm sure Thurston will be picked here)
8. Price
9. Smith
10. Civoniceva
11. Crocker
12. Thaiday
13. Harrison

14. Slater (goes to full back when he comes on with Hunt into back row, ala 2008)
15. Kenny
16. Hannant
17. Myles

I like that team Foordy.

Doesn't really bother me if Hunt or Slater starts. Both will do a top shelf job.

Although i reckon your bench might be a bit heavy. Need a more mobile forward there IMO.

I'd also have Myles starting instead of Thaiday. Thaiday to come off the bench and hopefully provide some injection running wide rather than working it up the middle.

Yeah, with Slater or Hunt on the bench the other players should really be one specialist prop (Hannant easily), one second rower who can play prop (Thaiday or Myles) and a specialist second rower (Harrison or Parker).

I'd love to see Shillington play but he's an out and out prop and between Shillington and Hannant, you'd have to say that Hannant would win hands down.

Then you lose some much needed mobility. Thaiday can go 70 minutes, maybe even 80 if needed. Shillington (who did nothing today, 11 tackles and 6 hitups) doesn't provide much off the bench and would get found out, fitness wise. He's another Nate Myles (and nowhere near as good) and we don't have room for 2 of those type of players in the backrow or on the bench.

Why bother arguing with him JEB?? QUEENSLANDER doesn't like Thaiday at all and doesn't want hime picked for that reason/ Your wasting your breat you know very well Thaiday will be picked. Shillington is a myth IMO he is big but thats about it..

As long as thaiday doesnt play like he does from the broncos, i dont care if hes selected. he is a good player if hes not just dropping to his knees like a cheap prossie
