POST GAME Qualifying Final - Broncos vs Cowboys

If we are not in a position for an attacking kick, then he should be kicking to the corners trying to find the grass. Not allowing the fullback and wingers to catch it on the full.

If we allow RTS (and to a lesser the rest if the Rorters 3/4 line) to constantly catch the ball on the full, he will burn us.
Yes he should do that, but like Super Freak said, I think this is a deliberate plan to prevent giving the opponent 7 tackle sets, as his kicking game is not accurate enough to play for position, and invariably goes over the dead ball line.

badyon I want to watch that sort of footy. It was a great game between two teams at the top of their game. Who get's out the cranky pants after winning a game like that?

Just received a text message confirming the tickets will be on sale for members coming Monday 21st September at 10 am!

It worries me that last time we played them they were always in control after losing their halfback and best prop early in the game. They bombed a few tries as well. Hopefully they have a shocker next week and the dogs get up somehow.

It'll be nice if both cows and chooks get bundled out next week by the dogs and sharks!! That will end with a repeat of 2006!!
I can't see it but, Sharks have been shite today against a very poor Rabitohs and the dogs were very average last night. We'll play the chooks in 2 weeks and the cows will be going for a little trip down south.

Gee there's some nervous nellies here, at the game it looked like both teams were playing within themselves knowing they couldn't be knocked out.

That was a fairly conservative gameplan from Bennett and if you can't see it you're just looking for negatives.

if thats the case then fair enough, it could be a plan that he and Bennett devised to minimize the effects of his weaker kicking game.

However, in the off season, i would like to see him work hard on his kicking game. Maybe we could enlist Lockys help to work on his kicking game... because IMO, Hunt's kicking game is the only thing stopping him from becoming an elite half

Detracting from the footy for a second, what the hell was going on in the half time show? I saw a silver robot on a segue, a 2 metre tall yeti made of string and cheerleaders going for some 'blast from the past' theme. Did anyone understand it?

Could Parkers offside try saving tackle ended up a penalty try??

Would you consider that foul play?

Probably should have been a penalty to Brisbane.

Hannant shortens the 10 by taking a couple of steps when he gets up. If he doesn't do that, Parker would have been onside.

Unfortunately, they don't penalize that anymore.

Yeah and like I said, the opposition back three always play deep when he kicks which takes out the option for him to kick to corners, so what are his options? Kick deep to them or put it high and attempt to make it difficult for them?

Yeah I've noticed that, defending players are getting penalised for trying to stop attacking players for moving a meter forward to play the ball...good point

There's nothing wrong with kicking the bombs when he's kicking from halfway, problem is we don't have any chasers putting pressure on the bloke catching the bomb and pinning them in.

I might be bias but we have had some of the absolute worst blockers used against us this year. I had to laugh when the commentators point out that Hodges does them well whilst conveniently missing Matai or Jennings running sideways thirty metres to push our players out of the way.

They've let block plays fester since 2008.

It's one of the dumbest parts of our game, yet the referees can never win.

At the start of 2011 they had a walking off the mark 'crackdown', they were telling players left, right and centre to walk back to their mark every game until they inevitably gave up halfway through the season.

They had another crackdown in Round 3 in the Manly/Bulldogs game where the referees stopped play 4 or 5 times so that the players would play it on the mark.

The media complained and it's rarely happened since.

The worst incident of the weekend had to be the Curtis Rona break. Dugan was all over him like a wet blanket, Rona walked about 3 metres off the mark so he could play the ball. Despite being in no man's land, Dugan makes the next tackle and nothing was done.

Classic Maxwell reffing.

I could have sworn parkers penalty it was his inside player that was offside glenn i think but he never got involved. Cant believe they didn't call granville offside or being held up over the line isnt advantage played how do you get more advantage than crossing the try line.
