Ikin has thrown his support behind the Queensland Cup.

He believes it would weaken the development pathways especially in regional areas. He doesn't see any benefit beyond giving the fans an extra team on game-day. He believes NSW clubs should have two teams with a focus on developing talent in regional areas to strengthen the code.

Both the Cowboys and Titans disagree. Cowboys Head Of Football would prefer to have his players play in one side instead of trying to organise all their talent across Mackay, Townsville and Cairns.

Meanwhile Titans CEO Mitchell wants more influence on his second tier players and help their development into NRL footballers. However he doesn't necessarily want to make any significant changes to the Queensland Cup to make those changes.

I dont think there is a one size fits all answer for this one. As @theshed said, pro's and cons to each system.

The pros of a reserve grade don't equal the cost. I don't think people appreciate how much it would cost to fly and house and pay an extra 20 players and staff would be to the game.

It was only two years ago the game was begging News for money to survive, now it wants to throw money around like no man's business.

Is the cost going to equal better players? 14/17 Queensland players in game one came through the current pathways system. Lot of money to achieve better than 14.

Very very quiet, was on the right but didn't get too involved. Few good scoots out of trouble.

Hoeter has been very unlike him up and down, consistency was his thing for seven years and now he's all over the shop.

Hoping TC can push for Riki's spot.

I am a riki fan and think his importance in our defensive structures is underestimated by most. However his attack has been somewhat lacking because he has been so focused on his defensive role.

I would actually like us to have TC on the bench, with the intent to come on for riki with about 25-30 mins left. That would enable riki to meet his defensive role but play a greater role in attack earlier in the game and TC to come on and use his size and offloads later in the match.

He could also fill in for the middle forwards if needed due to injury etc.
