I don't know why some people think just because we pay such and such payer a certain amount they can't play on the wings? Play them where it suits the team best not according a pay scale. Hopefully the new coach and Bruno won't feel any pressure to have Falou play in the centres just because of his pay packet.

Besides, look at Yawnion. How much are they paying Lote to daydream about spending his paypacket out on the wings? [icon_evillaugh

I re-state my view: we need Folau on the wing where we need quality finishing- like Wendell and Lote. That's where height/size matters.

Well Said, i agree with you 100%

That will be highly unlikely given we are trying our hardest to sign his current coach who moved him to the centres.
But i agree with you, He should be on the wing.

I still can't see how Boyd is a better winger than Michaels. Michaels is better under the high ball, a better tackler, runs the ball straight and hard, is one of the toughest players in our side and I really think he's much more damaging in attack than Boyd, despite Boyd being actually pretty decent this year...even though most of it was at fullback.

The problem with Michaels from a wingers perspective is that he isn't a finisher and this is reflected in the low amount of tries and linebreaks achieved this season, his more a player you utilise to put your wingers into positions to take advantage of opportunities (better utilised as a ballplayer and defensively, not as a finisher which is a wingers job first and formost), in a foot race his not going to trouble a lot of the faster wingers and fullbacks in the competition. With Folau joining and Hodges in the other centre spot, my preference is for wingers who are more likely to take advantage of opportunities created by their centres and factors to consider in that is definately speed and linebreaking ability, something I feel Kemp and Boyd offer more. I'm not saying Michaels isn't a decent enough option on the wing, but to get the most out of him you really have to utilise him in the centres, for me his wasted on the wing because his better utilised elsewhere.

It should also be noted on average Boyd makes more metres in every run, makes on average more linebreaks per game and has scored more tries this season.

We should play our highest paid players in their best position (form providing). Folau and his coach believe he is best as a centre and I tend to agree with them.

Then it's "good-bye Michaels" next season.

And whatever anyone thinks, I still reckon this season, Michaels is doing just as good a job as Folau in the centres.

Compare Boyd - and even Michaels, to Folau on the wing? [icon_lol1.

So we get Folau, lose Michaels and keep Boyd. [icon_drun

Yeah - let's sign and pay a player on the basis of where HE wants to play.

So according to you it makes more sense for the club to be held hostage to the demands of a rookie player (who frankly is NOT playing as well as Folau this season in the centres nor has he ever played as well as Folau in any position) trying to cement a position in first grade, but it's wrong to utilise one of the game's premier centres and international player there, moreso if he asks to play there (which could have been part of the deal to come to the Broncos)? Yeah that make sense

If Michaels is so rigid that its centre or no where else then I'm sorry but his probably going to have to find another club, the depth the club has out on the wing and in the centres is improving dramatically from where it was previously especially with the under 20's coming up who would be most willing to play where ever his needed. Hell I'm sure even Folau would be willing to play on the wing if his needed and thats despite frankly his profile in the game has earnt him the right to have some say in where he should be played, can you honestly say the same about Michaels?

Well said GC my thoughts exactly. Folau has been superb since he started and has been menacing this year again. To play a guy that has played no rep footy and has played a handful of games at centre in the NRL, that is playing at a level comparable but I certainly think worse ahead of him is crazy to me.

I think we need to keep at least 2 of the following players

Kemp
Michaels
Boyd.

Boyd and Michaels. Boyd is improving, and Michaels is CRIMINALLY underrated here it seems.

He's solid at best, if you can't see that then you are crimminally overrating him.

I might be overrating him, but he's still better than Boyd and Kemp. At least at this point in time.

Michaels seems to have hit his peak and that's as good as he's going to do.

The others are getting better and better.

I disagree - I think all three are still showing improvement and that is why I'm keeping firmly out of this debate. There's just no real way of knowing who is going to be a better option to keep in the long run...

I guess it's going to be one of Bennett's final decisions [icon_frown
