NEWS Right price to deliver Storm’s Brodie Croft to Broncos

I imagine it’s money not including Glenn’s money.

How is that possible if Glenn hasn't been signed? They don't know if he'll accept the offer or go to the Panthers, perhaps his management will negotiate a bit more $$? What about Oates?

This is my point, that number is so clearly wrong, no matter what way you look at it.

I don't trust Badels figures and i seriously doubt he knows how much we have free under the cap ...

but if the 300k quoted in this article is close to being accurate, it would be an extremely good pick up for us

it’s the price I put out last night so probably just Badel getting scoops from BHQ again.

I’m just throwing options out there. I give as little credit to NRL media as the next guy

Wouldn't the storm have to accept a hit on their cap too if he's under contract
I would say if there was a mutual agreement between Croft and Storm to void the existing contract then Storm wouldn't have to pay anything but Croft would only earn what the Broncos can offer

They really have fucked up with not only the players they’re kept but the amount players are receiving. It’s good Siebold is coming in to fix that ASAP.

So we're going to take the storms scraps , and buy a half that isn't what we need.
Step in the wrong direction

What kind of half do we need? Remember who is off contract and how we can't afford a big salary.

A game manager with a kicking game, Croft isn't this. I think people are getting blindsided by this.

Croft definitely looks like a "game manager" to me from what we've seen. I don't know about his kicking game though.

Easy to look like a game manager next to Smith, has a short kicking game but that's it. Bellamy doesn't lose anyone he rates , he's been shopped.

If we're moving Milf back to 6 full time anyway, which seems to be the consensus, he can be the primary kicker while Croft handles managing the side.

Idk the tip seems to be milf needs to bust his ass this off season to get fit enough for fullback I don't know if 6 has been mentioned?

If it is for 300k, who cares?

Because we might be better off using it towards someone else, 7 or 1.

Croft obviously plays 7 and I reckon he would go alright at 1 as well. Again, unless Boyd or Bird are offloaded, there is no money to go for someone more expensive.

Maybe we will see , plenty can happen between now and the start of next season.

yeah, but it's to ensure they have the cap space to give Papenhuysen the big upgrade he will require ... not necessarily because Bellamy doesn't rate him ... from reports the Storm do rate him

Hooper spouted out a similar figure last night on NRL 360, he said we have just over $100K in the salary cap for 2020.

Do you want to know how I know that's wrong? He followed it up with, literally in the same segment, "The Broncos are offering Alex Glenn half of what his previous contract value was to stay at the club"

Even if Glenn was on $300K, which is extremely conservative, by Hooper & Badel's figures, we'd be over the salary cap for 2020, and that's without even factoring in Oates, which is almost guaranteed to re-sign himself..

So where has this imaginary figure come from? Did they conjure it up themselves?
No. Cause we aren't on $0 remaining
