Something you might not have noticed - and it's something I commented was missing during Seibold's tenure - is Kevvie has been injecting some indigenous-descent talent into our squad. If he keeps it up, they might outnumber Kiwis next season.

2022* your gold standard is slipping.

Brent Read graced us with a classic piece of journalism today.
“there are four or five NRL clubs that want Herbie farnworth. “
Yet can only confirms the name of one club, the dolphins.
Thanks scoop.
Triple M Facebook post I seen with Readys 'mail' says Broncos winger Herbie Harnworth.. then Read goes on and basically says he played a great game I didn't watch it.. great bit of journalism..

But in all seriousness I hope we hang onto Herbie you only have to look at his stats next to Kotonis or many other centres in the game and see how much he does for the side, puts in 100% every week it's the type player the club needs to be successful.

He is a great player. Kotoni makes the highlights but I think Herbie is the actual class centre

He says Herbie wants to stay a Bronco:

Isaako:

“There were a couple of blokes ahead of me and I had a conversation with Kevvie which didn‘t really give me too much confidence. The conversations we had, I didn’t get the confidence I was even going to play unless there was an injury or something like that. I thought I worked extremely hard over the pre-season to earn a spot in the team and, look, it wasn’t meant to be in the eyes of the coaching staff there. So I sat down and spoke with my manager and my family and I thought it was a good opportunity to come here to the Titans.”
“I’m extremely disappointed with how it ended. I wanted to finish off on a high and finish my contract there, but it wasn’t meant to be. I thought I had a pretty good pre-season. I ripped in and did everything required of me. As the start of the season unfolded, Tesi dropped back into the team, which is all well and good. In the conversations we had, I didn’t get the confidence I was even going to play unless there was an injury.”
“There were talks with Parramatta. I left it up to my manager. I said ‘I don’t want to hear about it until something is finalised’. I didn’t want to go to Sydney. An opportunity came up here and it was fitting living in Brisbane and not having to make the move. I didn’t want to go to Sydney with a young family and with the contract at the Dolphins for the year after."
“Justin Holbrook said there were spots I could crack and play some good footy over the next seven months so that’s what I want to do. I’ve played 80-odd games for the Broncos and have a bit of experience. I’ll do whatever I can to help Jayden and guide him.”
Walters:
“There’s no issue with Jamayne. He has been a very good player for us but his manager came to us with a release and we decided he is free to go. He is going to the Dolphins next year anyway so I wish him all the best. We have good depth here. I didn’t know where he was going but it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. We left on good terms and I hope Jamayne plays well for the Titans.”

I knew something seemed off with how short and blunt the official broncos press release was.

This guy seemingly got dropped for Niu and sooked to his manager for a release. See ya

yeah states that he left because he probably wouldn't be in the 17 but is all good to not be in the titans 17 , and just give some guidance to JC. seems like he had an issue with not being ahead of Niu

This kind of attitude is exactly the kind of thing that has held back the team the last few years. I don't wish to scapegoat Isaako as his situation is a bit different (what with joining the Dolphins next year), but it's this 'now, now, now' type of shit. No one wants to put in the hard yards.

Yeah, you may have worked hard in the off-season, but you need to be prepared to stick it out a little longer and not give up at the first hurdle. The minute things have gone wrong over the last few years, too many of these blokes have just wanted to go and hide, or just plain old give up and not put in the work to rectify the issues.

That kind of approach manifests itself in other negative ways in terms of the culture at the club, and it seems to me that Big Dick Dave and Benny Ikin are sorting the wheat from the chaff in this respect.
