POST GAME Round 10 - Sea Eagles vs Broncos

Kodi fucked up in the first Manly try, but watching the replay, Boyd should have been there. He barely even jogged, then stood there watching the ball, and then watched a Manly player fall over and score. He did some good things, but he should be doing good things in defence more than 80 or 90% of the time. His effort in the first Manly try is just a common occurance this year.

Kahu really needs to get back soon and take isaakos spot. He is letting in way too many tries thru soft defending
We missed moose and Gillett there last night especially at the back end of the half and start of the second half where manly were all over us

McGuire and Gillett? TPJ and Sua were our top performers statistically again. We must have been missing Moose and Gillo too then. I’m scratching my head. We are missing a lot more than those two. We need someone to captain the team and someone to drive the fking ship!

It's because we are one of the worst teams in the nrl at the moment. Doesn't matter where we play, we are almost guaranteed a loss at the moment.

we have won 3 out of our last 5 ... don't know how you get that we are "almost guaranteed a loss"

I feel worse this morning than I did last night.
Kodi's last pass summed up both his position and the teams position. It missed the mark......by a long way.

Disgraceful effort, not much you can really say about that game. They looked tired and uninterested, the same couple of players put in a decent show and the same regular plodders dished up their usual shit.
Bring on 2020

Bullshit. That try was a freak accident and no fullback in the game would have been able to stop it.

Well....you have to see it through the eyes of a whingy crybaby, like Dee.

1. Boyd. Great attempted try savers shows he was using his experience to read the game. Unfortunately on one leg all he can do is watch if they don’t put the ball directly at him. Out the back sweep horrible as too slow and out of touch. 3
2. Oates. Bit quiet not his usual effort, not what he needs prior to origin but what do expect with chopping and changing his centre. 5.
3. Roberts. Didn’t look happy on left and how did he not get ball that way??? Still went looking occasionally close to our best 6.
4. Bird. 37m!!! Adds nothing. Needs to go to QCup. Stop throwing good opportunities after bad money at this point. If he wants to leave humiliated great, if he steps up better, if he doesn’t improve no point in first grade - don’t see the downside. 1.
5. Isaako. Can kick but costs too many points with poor defence. Back to QCup in wing to learn. 2.
6. Milf. A few good plays but not good enough. 3.
7. KNik. An 18 year old rookie couldn’t be worse could they? Not even a speed bump in defence and just a waste of a spot in halfback. 1.
8. Lodge. Didn’t look 100% ?ribs but tried his heart out and missed him badly when he had a spell. 7.
9. Macca. Couple nice touches for tries but against very soft defence. My worry is against better teams he will be inspired to keep trying with far poorer results. Imagine arm is still sore but too slow and doesn’t run from dummy half unless try line is 2 meters away. Also where was kicking to take pressure off milf. 5.
10. Thaiday. Thought was his best running all year, problem was he barely did it. Good line with try but soft defence and his flopping to ground just happen to come in handy for once. Soft in middle along with few others. How are these commentators saying he should play for QLD. Whatever they are smoking it’s time rethink their life choices much like Sammy. 4.
11. Glenn. Vital errors but still reasonable work. 4. Now injured. Miss him with Gillo out too.
12. Sua. Can we please resign him now. Don’t mind paying market rate which will be a bit inflated. Pitty isn’t a QLDer. Mind you he’s worth 3-5 birds at moment so 5 mill a week? Just needs someone to give him better ball 7.
13. TPJ. Can we clone this bloke and make him captain, coach, halfback, lock and prop? Didn’t look his absolute best in a flat team but still awesome. Showed more ball playing in 1 moment than KNik all night. 8.
14. Payne Glass. 9 for being a machine and stopping a try after put own arm back in!!! Only worry about paying market for him is you can see he’s a bit awkward. Against smaller or less fit blokes prob doesn’t matter.
15. Offa. Ok stats but looked off pace and middle lost momentum when he was on. Not great but wasn’t only flat guy. 4.
16. Sims. Back to old ways. If you can’t turn up every week don’t bother showing up at all. Know he can do better but had enough. QCup don’t think it even matters with all injuries. Once again could a 20 year old willing to try his heart out do worse? And might learn something. 1.
17. Opa. Didn’t do much but what do you expect with way he is used. Not a big fan and would prefer someone better but as others have said he’s got to be a fraction of cost of Bird and even with in and out team offers the same if not more. 4.

Team. 2. I know missing a few guys doesn’t help but defence is about attitude, fitness and structure. Had none of the above. Nice we can put a few tries on a bottom dweller team who just about have to take seperate flights home by the sound of it. Always so kind of Broncs to play crap teams into form and cohesion. Turbo was mentally shot so rather than pepper him all night and get in his face we kindly hung off him to give him the space to remember he has talent. I imagine lack of killer instinct and leadership. If you can’t exploit a weakness why bother showing up.

Coach. 1. Don’t mind trying shift of Roberts and Bird if Bird was in form. And if going to disrupt 2 sides need to do it for the whole game! And in presser is he delusional saying hard to get young blokes going each week? What about the senior players you douche? Not in the sack Bennett brigade yet but would prefer he went to director of football next year. At the very least time for board to have a chat with him I see what the f*** is going on and surely Locky and a few footy brains could suggest we need a new plan.

Solutions. Love Milf at fullback but can’t keep saying that sacrilege in team lists.

Next week

1. Allan (Boyd to get fit or not play, centre of fit)
2. Isaako
3. Roberts
4. Opaic
5. Kahu if mentally ready.
6. Milf
7. Murphy or Dargan
8. Lodge
9. Macca (limit minutes to 50 until arm right)
10. Thaiday
11. Sua (preferred side)
12. Oates
13. TPJ
14. KNik (hooker only unless injuries)
15. Taga
16. Carrigan
17. Offa.
18. Sims - if Kahu not fit then Oates to wing, Thaiday to 2nd row and taga to start.

Looks desperate but high chance of losing anyway might as well do it with a fit and enthusiastic team and get other guys fit or in form.

Not saying I agree with everything but I like the commentary.
I'm critical of WB that it has reached this point but it seems to be pretty much universally accepted that if you put a young guy in before he is a ready, it doesn't do him or the team any good at all. If we are out of semi final contention late in the season, I'd be in favor of giving those #7s a chance. Otherwise next year and we are stuck with Bird or Nikorima this year.

Just saw Glenn walking through South Bank in a leg brace. Didn’t look happy.
