The likely head to head:

1. Ponga
2. Oates (shades Young)
3. Staggs (shades Gagai)
4. Best (shades Farnworth)
5. Cobbo
6. Milford (based on being at his best which he likely won't be)
7. Reynolds (miles ahead)
8. Klemmer (shades Jensen)
9. Brailey
10. Haas (shades Saifiti)
11. Capewell
12. Frizzell
13. Carrigan

14. Paix
15. Flegler
16. Hetherington
17. Saifiti

The centre battle on both sides should be fun but the difference aside from the strength of our pack and bench is of course Reynolds.

I hope Milford goes well (after this game) justifying my long misaligned belief that he was the better of our 2015 halves and would eventually come good.

I am very worried about this game. But I worry about every game as y’all should know by now, I have legit Broncos PTSD.

I can’t remember what side Gags is playing on in newy but Best has a pretty big rep too. Should be easy to motivate Staggs for this one. He seems to love a 1 on 1 battle.
last time they played staggs was all over him, i thought it was going to be a battle cause I rate best too, but it wasn't even a contest.

hopefully we see deja vu

edit: please ignore me, as @Big Del has pointed out it was Cobbo and not Staggs that clowned on Best.

I hope he pisses his pants. Slips over and knocks himself out.

You know there is a cure for that.

Another puppy.

You will be too tired to stress.

I'll be interested to see where O'Brien picks Milf.

The most likely option is at 6 and drop Hoy, but his team is coming off a win, so there could be thoughts of minimising changes to a winning team and chucking him on the bench.

Off the bench probably works best fo us as Hoy isn't that good and Milf off the bench reduces his impact to the overall game. I'd say Hoy gets dropped though.

Knights have a ton of players returning this game, so let's hope they're rusty, but I think they'll turn up to play... we need to be committed to 80mins of grinding in this game to come out on top.

Last week we won possession, field position and completed above 80%... and it led to 38-0, but could've easily been 50-0.

It was our most complete performance in years, but that's the blueprint for us moving forward... to do it consistently it will need 100% commitment from the squad to each week... and that's where we have been lacking for years.

Here's also hoping the weather is kind on Thursday night... gonna be a shitty dewy field in NSW so having rain on top of that just brings the two teams closer together

Specs savers !
Last time we played them it was Selwyn who was Bradman Best `s Daddy . Kotoni was out injured .

Selwyn bossed Bradman . Then took an intercept and ran the length remember ?

Geez, I hope not. I paid 6k for LASIK in 2020.

but yes now that you mention it, it was Cobbo. updated.

Like playing outside someone like.....Adam Reynolds?
I'll be interested to see how he comes back in this little stint with Newcastle.

There's no doubt a 2015 / 2016 Milf outside Arey would be phenomenal, but over the last few years he hasn't necessarily been a run first half or his running game hasn't been as threatening... he seems to have transitioned to a halfback style where he wants to play off the back of structure rather than off the cuff.

I'm absolutely expecting him to tear us apart now though

Dobbo saying TMM 90% to play and if he doesn’t Mead will play fullback anyway. I’d prefer mead play fullback if TMM doesn’t play. Everytime mead has played he hasn’t let us down and an old head at the back will be better I think. That allows Cobbo to stay on the wing and form that combination with staggs and Reynolds.

Newcastle have a pretty decent forward pack if frizzel is back. We need to match it with them. On form it should be an easy win by 13+ but the fact that we are favourites and expected to win easily has got me very worried. If I’ve learnt anything over the last couple of years it’s expect the broncos to shit the bed in these type of games. I really hope that the boys have their heads screwed on and don’t expect things to just fall into place otherwise I can see a BHQ meltdown of epic proportions Thursday night.

Now to see if we're back to 2019 form or not - beating the top 8 and losing to the bottom 8.

Hope the boys have had enough of losing for the last 3 years and keep putting in 100% every week.
