True enough...but I think its also fair to say that it has increased to a new level, since the bunker/review system.

NRL players are now starting to rival soccer players when it comes to taking a dive to feign injury.
It'd disgusting and the players doing it should be embarrassed and subsequently publicly shamed.

I agree with you, Olam should have had a try, and Reece def shoulder charged him.

It was poor reffing across the board, just the Broncos copped the brunt of it.

Now that i am of sound mind and not being driven mad by emotional rage at what i witnessed last night, i can honestly say the tipping point for me was two things.

1 - The Carrigan hip drop. I flipped my shit at that call and turned the TV off and went to bed.
I hate hate hate what the NRL is doing to our game, and its stupid shit like these hip drop penalties that are a big part of it.

2 - This one bothered me the most, and that was when Hughes shouldered Flegler in the back like the weak gutted dog that he is, and got nothing for it. Zilch, Zero, Nothing.

I fucking hate the Storm, and i hate every one of their players and think that Bellamy and the tactics they have introduced to the game over the past decade have been more damaging to the sport than any other factor.

Followed closely by Vlandys.

WHOA !
I thought you were leaving until the Broncos made a GF ?
That left edge is a huge issue for the Broncos defensively. The way the Storm picked Brisbane apart for that opening try was embarrassing. Why was Billy defending alongside Ezra? How did he end up out of position and why was Capewell so slow to recognise the gap?

Munster ran between Carrigan and Capewell .
They were near the posts with a gap like Sydney Heads between them .
Billy wasn`t even in the frame . I blame Walsh . He is sposed to be the organiser .

More like Too Long Can't Read.

He has some good points clown.

Ooooh so you can't read?

Agreed. Any missed infringements can be handled after the game via the MRC
This is the thing that frustrates so much. Add to that - they miss things in post match review. The system is there for review and penalty/suspension post match for anything grey or not blatant. They quite literally ruined the contest with the over reaction sin bin.

A system needs to be implemented where post match the opposition team can submit issues in a public format for review. I know they can contact MRC but a public submission system would hold the NRL much more accountable to whatever they are trying to stamp out.

Walsh was 100% a shoulder charge clown, take your biased glasses off.
The reffing was poor for both sides, just more for the Broncos.

Bunker and ref said fair play .
That`s good enough for me . Maybe stay off alcohol when you watch the Broncos ?

Billy wasn't in frame because he was in Capewell's spot. Capewell is supposed to be defending alongside Mam. Yes, he was also responsible for not adjusting, but Billy was out of position and shouldn't have to rely on his fullback to tell him to get into position.

I don't drink any more, and are you referring to the same bunker and ref that binned Carrigan for a hip drop?

Because those officials might be the reason I start drinking again for Broncos games haha.

Why are you still here? You quit, you norwood bald old fart

I think you are correct on all accounts really. Especially the Walsh strip. No idea why they didn’t just wait 3 more second on the quick tap and send it to the bunker rather than calling it back.

That being said, Melbourne were probably robbed 2 tries also and they got the Herby penalty try wrong too.

No idea why Flegler and Pene were binned for a push and shove, and they’ve admitted the Patty send off was wrong.

The game was so poorly reffed on all accounts that we are only the victims because we lost. If we had won, and we could have, the storm would have a right to feel equally dudded.

The result and score is entirely meaningless because there was at least 3 send offs and about 4 tries that were wrong. The NRL should just give both teams 1 point and an apology
100% agree on all but the Herbie penalty try, that was almost the definition of a penalty try. Herbie in front, no-one between him and the ball, he's taken out illegally. I have more issue with his sin bin tbh, the massive dive was rewarded when you see worse let go every fucking week.

But yes, I agree, the Storm were also dudded. The whole thing was a farce, and those shit calls changed the entire complexion of the game.

Example: If we got Walsh's strip called correctly he's in under the posts. At that point, we were 2 points down with Carrigan in the bin - so we would have gone to 4 points ahead with 20mins to play and Storm would have been the ones chasing.

Instead they get the ball, march upfield and score through Coates' bat-back to Olam. We're 8 points behind instead of 4 in front and still have Pat in the bin. That's a MASSIVE turnaround in the context of that game considering the margin was only 8 points.

Similar with the Billy tap, it was locked up at 6-all and we would have gone to 6 in front after just 20mins. We saw how Melb grubbed it up whenever we took the lead, I daresay we get 6 in front and we go on with it. But we'll never know. Even though he called play on and only called it back when it was clear Walsh was going through to score.

Oh and we were the team who were so ill-disciplined that we gave away half a dozen 6-again's and only received one, but shit like this was let go all fucking night. Storm players called out and knew it (see Tui's hands up) but not penalised:

Still livid about that result. Absolutely fuming.

Just to get under the skin of the likes of you kid.

And in the words of the great poet Eminem, i would rather be 44 year old me than 20 year old you.

And I will have you know I have a head of lush flowing hair your mum love's to run her fingers through.

The strip call was right. Warbrick still has possession of it, Walsh needed to completely separate the ball from Warbrick's hands, not simply make it loose.

Ref got the quick tap 100% right as well.

@theshed the Walsh shoulder charge should have been a penalty try but what was the other try that should have been given? Warbrick where Coates clearly has his left foot in front of Munster and puts pressure on Walsh?

If it's the Olam falcon, the whistle was blown early. You always play to the whistle, you don't go on second thought let's look back at it. Even then, there's an argument that Olam hit Walsh with a shoulder charge.

Unless he got involved in the tackle (I didn't see it), then can't really complain too much about this one.

It happens in every game.

I think the diving in a lot of ways is worse than football now. In football, they get caught out diving they can get booked. If they dive in football and it gets missed nothing happens. In league players just stay down until the ref blows the whistle and the bunker does nothing about it.

Anyone see the Dragons player that got put on report for the hip drop? Reckon his was worse

Maybe stay off the DMT / GHB / Ayahuasca then ? LOL .
