Cowboys blew that with poor 5th tackle options. Three sets in a row they got trapped on the 5th without a kick. Two times on halfway. Just the stuff that JT normally does.

Gallant effort from the Cowboys. They were all over the Sharks in the first half with Lowe, Bolton and Taumalolo in particular standing out. Half-time was the second worst thing that could have happened to them, with Fifita grabbing an interchange card being the first.

I was just about to post the exact thing. I'm not sure how many penalties The Sharks gave away in the second half but they certainly cleaned up their act and were up extremely quickly especially Lewis.
My pet peeve too was on display with Fifitas tunnel ball skills.

No doubt though it was a chance gone begging for NQ and a chance for Morgan to really stand up. He was very good in patches but had enough pill in the first half to put them away.

I thought it was a great game but it just annoys me the amount of latitude Cronulla get with the offside. Kent pointed it out months and months ago and he is a Sydney fanboy. You never see refs penalise deep into tackle counts when teams are trucking it up the field when teams are offside. It is usually in the first few tackles. But you can call it smart tactics also. They never call offsides on kick pressure.

Cronulla are a tough team but I don't think they can win it all. Being tough every week only gets you so far. Not sure they have the points or discipline with errors and penalties in them when other teams level rise towards the end of the year. If thurston can get through origin unscathed and they don't get more of an injury bug throughout I still think they can go deep. Especially if Bolton and Lowe can keep this form up. They were $19 before last night for the premiership. Thought that was generous especially with no other team really standing out

I think that given our draw the Broncos are THE form team of the comp. If we can stay healthy and have our young guys improve that little bit we can go all the way.

We are in better position than ever to handle origin as well.

It just goes to show that the Dragons have always been a fair footy side under McGregor. I was quite critical of Mary last year and the way the Dragons had bottomed out, but in hindsight I was being unfair. No other side had to deal with as tough a draw as them, at least not in the early going and by the time they found their footing they were already making plans for next season. With a fresh start and a few fresh faces, they've built a team that will challenge any on it's day.

They could have easily dropped their bundle against the Warriors. It would have been easy to think it was too hard without Widdop & Dugan but to their credit they never let up, physically dominating the Warriors pack and exposing them down the Warriors right hand side. It was the right gameplan and they were great all evening.

I expect next week to be a different story for the Warriors. Not necessarily because they'll improve but because they'll be up against a Broncos line-up missing Matt Gillett, Sam Thaiday, Josh McGuire & Darius Boyd among others. When you take away those players who do so much in defence, it just gives the Warriors more time and I'm sure they'll make the most of it next weekend.

Will be interesting to see Wayne's line up.
