Round 11 - Roosters vs Broncos

Who else was impressed with Asiato? I thought he looked really good last week and I hope he builds on that performace. I hope to see him in starting in the 13 this week. Likely wishful thinking. Also, has anyone seen any description or update on K. Hunt's knee injury?

The old bait and switcheroo.

Fox Sports executive director Steve Crawley:

“The underdog Broncos taking down a champion side in the Roosters and so much drama, it was impossible to look away. It’s a great endorsement for the NRL and Fox League’s coverage.”

Happy because ratings = money

Sad because Brisbane win.

Those screenshots do a good job of showing that it was actually pretty marginal in the end, and I can see why in the moment it wasn't called. In the first it looks like Asiata releases it right over the ten metre line, and in the second Palasia has had to turn his body back a bit to take it just in front of the line. His body position makes it look worse than it was, even though it was still forward.

during his weekly media briefing, Annersley starts off this incident by saying how he doesn't like to use lines on the field to determine forward passes, before he uses lines on the field to determine that this pass was forward, lol.

then complains about a Gamble pass to Lodge

Is it just me or does Gamble throw the flatest passes the history of the game. Every single one is just on the verge. I like the fact that he doesn't rush the pass but geez, every time he gets the ball to the line, I think it's going to be forward.
I feel like that every time Turpin gets the ball...

The guy is out of touch. He uses statistics like they are going out of fashion despite the fact most of them DON'T support what he is saying but its the old, if I sound smart enough, hopefully no one will challenge my position.

I don't think there's anyone better than TPJ when it comes to that.

But he is so frustrating. Because when he's on like he was last night, Broncos have a tendency to win because he takes on the best forwards in the opposition pack and smashes them out of the game which plays a very big part in the Broncos winning.

But he can't seem to do that consistently. He could be one of the most damaging backrowers in the comp but he lets himself down due to inconsistency.
I think he's been pretty consistent in 2021.

Devil's advocate, he's got a bloody point though. I see at least half a dozen forward passes we make each week that are not picked up with our DH throwing a lot of them. We're certainly not alone, but we've been picked up for them at cruicial moments this year that have dudded our momentum at pivotal moments.

Conversely, some like the try to Cardigan which was called forward but wasn't even close, likely even up the balance sheet a little against us. Not seeing much mention of the this particular event though in the media as that mistake probably cost us the game against the cows.

Getter better at not throwing them and also having better tech available to adjudicate them I'm all in favour for, as long as it works well.

Yeah 2 sin bins in 1 game should be a send off.
World accepts two yellows is a send off in soccer and a number fouls is a ejection in basketball - I don't see why we're doing things differently so yeah, two sin bins should be automatic removal (I'd be ok though with 18th man being used in this situation, tho)

Basketball has the personal fouls... but two flagrant fouls or two technical fouls is ejection from the game.

I think it might be one and done in the NFL for a few different things.. Union adopts the two yellows = a red.

It's basically precedent across world sports... except Vlando ball

Radley should've been sent for the first shot on Kelly... how he gets away with 2 bins and being on report 4 times is a joke. Glad the wank will be spending 5 weeks on the sidelines.

Will TPJ get his origin spot? And will he now become a target as some form of payback?
