POST GAME Round 12 - Broncos vs Eels

They couldn't agree whether it was Newton's First Law of Motion or Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity. Personally, I think it's the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which states that the entropy of any isolated system always increases. Pretty straightforward really.
Sir, respectfully... you are an idiot!

Well Boyd was shit again... His two efforts on Michael Jennings were abysmal, didn't put his body in front of the player at all and did little weak grabs with his arms, pathetic (Thank god for the try saving defence from offa and Kahu). His lack of speed / desire in the chase on George Jennings intercept was also embarassing. Again he did next to nothing in attack.

Honestly he is a shot duck. He has nothing left. Either sit out for a while and get injuries sorted, or retire. Because at $750k a season, putting in performances like that week in, week out is just not good enough from any player, let alone a captain.

I thought it was sadly about his best game all season... he’s building a bit which is great but just can’t carry a fullback who can’t run. He wasn’t exposed as much last night due to complete ineptitude from eels halves rather than good management.

Wonder how Isaako is at organising defence?

Just need to look at our prelim last year to realise just how important Boyd is atm. Even on one leg we were well in that game until he went off.

on that forward pass no try ... what were the commentators going on about... he passed it behind the 10m line and French caught it over the 10m line ... it was 1000% a forward pass ...

and BTW ... if the ball is thrown backwards, the laws of physics (which i'm confident Corey Norman is not able to defy) say it is not possible for the ball to float forward
I agree with the forward call. The commentators are talking about player momentum is. 2 players running in a forward direction passing will mean the ball travels forward.
I don't think that was it in this case, but you got to give them credit for trying to make something controversial in an otherwise pretty straight forward "big team beats little team contest".
As for Boyd's performance, I thought he was very good despite the physical deficiency of his lack of speed. Both he and Thaiday gave what they could.
Without them and Macca, our team would lack leadership and direction.
Milford has been good all year but was obviously down against the eels. Why? I haven't got a clue. But I hope it's a one off.
On the whole, I think we are in a fairly good position, with origin and the break it gives, allowing our injured players to rest up, whilst the likes of Milford are given time to refocus.

You are talking about seasoned professionals who have been there, done it and proved themselves, Not promising youngsters. Sua hasnt earned a reputation to match Gillett or Glenn yet, thats why we wont promise him a starting spot.

We will see . I think it will happen, Su'A will stary over glenn next year. He possibly could even stay in the starting lineup this year .

I find it interesting that when Milf is interviewed, he makes a point of saying his strengths are his running game and won't change his style of taking the line on. I've seen him say it a few times this year. I would love him to run even more. I don't think he runs enough.

He needs to run more direct. Running sideways against a set defensive line isn’t helpful.

These are professional players. If they need a one legged man to prevent them falling apart in defence then it is sh*t coaching and culture. He is costing 1-2 tries at moment if thats the standard it’s not good enough. A good fullback should be worth saving a try a game not there to prevent complete defensive collapse.

If your argument is true then coach needs to go for Bellamy at end of the year and proper defensive structures taught next off season. If it’s wrong then why are we playing someone not fit for half a season and coach needs to explain to the board.

Name one other team that would play Boyd half a season like this, waste Milfs talents or persist with KNik with no backup plan? The story so far hasn’t been bad luck or injuries it’s been terrible team management and tactics. He’s been saved by luck and good man management with young forwards standing up.

If he wins a premiership this year happy to admit WB is greatest league genius of all time and not question again but if doesn’t he has backed himself into a corner he deserves to answer for.

I think if Bellamy genuinely on table then WB best position moving forward next year since still on contact would be player and welfare manager type role or maybe as director of football (but not a coaching role). He can still have relationships with the boys, set club standards and participate in recruitment but nowhere near tactics, team selections or final retention decisions where he has struggled. He can also help manage the transition better than last time. If he wakes up and agrees to slow down in a job that suits his skills and could do for next 10-15 years great. If he wants to be a head coach somewhere else he can leave (if that is prior to contract expires with breach no golden handshake given how badly he screwed us last time with his ‘successors’ and he has given plenty the push in his life many stayed loyal to the club so when it’s his time if won’t stay loyal then that’s on him).

Exactly! No use running if you're not pressuring the defensive line , it's ok to run sideways if he hits a runner but to do and die with the ball is no use. To me he seems to over think things and looks clueless at times , u don't think ge gas worked out when to run either. He seems to run when the defense is pretty much set and then sometimes he pulls up for the pass or kick when he should just run.

All fair points. I am not a huge fan of Bellamy but first and foremost I support the club.

But the club's so called integrity and values are going out the window if they sign this chain smoking rageaholic. They are basically saying "we forgive you for spitting on the game by cheating and we realize that your record is a total farce but we are going to pay you massive money because you are going to bring us a premiership". There will be no premiership and while Bellamy is punching holes in the coaches box, Bennett will either be leading his new club to a title or basking in retirement and thinking to himself, "What a fucking idiot."

Integrity and values sees us with no premierships and receiving **** all penalties.
