Round 13 Discussion

Ashley Taylor kicked the field goal in Extra Time

Yeah, Taylor is probably not too far off overtaking Hunt if he keeps it up, and if he overtakes him, he'll probably just keep on putting distance between them too.

Of course it's only his first real season, so many halves struggle living up to their amazing debuts.

I'm definitely experiencing PTSD over last year's grand final. Brown getting pulled up for obstructing the defence just winds me fucking up. No one has the balls to admit that the only reason there's a crackdown this year is because the Cowboys pulled off every illegal play in the book to win the GF. Butthurt, salty, sour grapes, it's all of those things and I'll freely admit it. It still really fucking sucks though.

I wish that was the case Morkel, but the only reason the referees care about it was because of a Warriors/Roosters game last year.

The Warriors built a fort around their ruck, everyone had a laugh but questions were raised.

Besides, they would have called one of our runners (Thaiday most likely) offside.

I'm with ya Dex, I have a massive soft spot for the Titans.

I was mouthing off when Reynolds looked to have kick that field goal. Paasi never knocked that ball on and to make matters worse the referees missed an obvious stomp from Brown in the build up. I was just getting through saying there's no justice in this game when all of a sudden they refereed it upstairs and the rest they say is history. I couldn't feel happier for them.

Their victory tonight was typified by that James try. Nothing pretty about it, but he took Souths on, got the better of them through the middle and just wanted it more. Souths had more talent than the Titans and looked a much better side in patches but they got exposed by a team that never gives in.

I've become a fan of Ryan James as well. This bloke has turned from an A grade grub into a leader and this season is doing everything right.

Somebody has been in his ear and to his credit he has taken it all on board.

I'm glad Daley doesn't pick him for Origin, he would, add something to that side.

Wasn't it James that was an absolute dipshit towards Parker when we last played them?

So Sam Burger ran for over 200 metres averaging 10 metres a run, and made 53 tackles.

He also made 4 errors and gave away 2 or 3 penalties.

Do the metres + tackles make up for that or is it just way too many **** ups?

Too many ****-ups. 2 penalties at (say) 40m each = 80m lost, so his 200m becomes 120. 4 errors = another 20 tackles needing to be made (4 x 5 tackles then a kick) so he's down to 33 tackles once you take away those he's caused his team to have to make.

Pretty ordinary for a marquee forward IMO.

I guess that's a good way of weighing up. You could argue that both are worth more of a negative, considering an error also loses you your remaining plays, and a penalty gives a kick for touch and a fresh set of six on top of however many plays the opposition already used.

Great run by Hopoate.

The kick-chase from Fifita was awful and he made him pay.

I'm not sure who I want to see win this game from a Broncos perspective...both teams are very even for mine.

That was great from Bird.

Thank god Laurie won't pick him (in the centres).

I'd have no qualms with Holmes being in the Australian side.

Nice play from Lichaa there. For the first time since joining the Dogs, he's showing Ennis up.

Wonder who's quicker: Holmes or Roberts

Am completly enjoying this battle between the doggies an sharks. How damned good is Jack Bird?! Also Valley, wow if he came to the Broncos it would be lovely. Also , i kinda wish we would have kept Bennie Barba, his in tremendous form an back to the best 2012 form. Sigh. Instead we stuck with Jack Reed .
