If Pies has any sense at all he would put Paix in there. He's had a week off to rest up and is streets ahead of Croft in terms of speed off the mark, passing and defence.

I'd much rather Paix for Luke. I reckon he is much more useful and effective at hooker than 5/8 (have we seen him at 5/8?) and I still think he ought to be our regular dummy half with Turpin in their rotation. Also useful of course as a general utility, unlike Luke who was ordinary last game.

It's Croft instead. This is why Milford being out is going to be a problem. He at least has a combination with Boyd and can produce something. Croft on the other hand...

All he has to do is dummy to the decoy and pass it out the back to boyd who will take care of the rest. Simples right?

Staggs looked especially dangerous outside of Dearden. Kept getting early ball outside his opposite man.

He certainly looks a little vulnerable out there in defence, as do all our wingers however I feel the real issue is the dog's breakfast of our edge defence - poor structure and little if any communication, something even Darius, our doyen of defence raised in the media a few days ago.

Luke is not an impact player. He's a one trick pony. Paix could cover Turpin, Dearden and Croft. Fucking Seibold. No wonder we get shitted on in the last twenty minutes every week.
