POST GAME Round 13 - Roosters vs Broncos

There are chances where Moga can pass to Oates throughout games but he chooses to hold it, when Reed was centre he use to pass it to Oates a lot more which frustrates me when Moga doesn't pass it sometimes when there a chances for Oates to go through gaps.

Oates also needs to come inside when he's covered. So often last night he just stayed on the outside while nothing was on and Moga had no choice but to die with the ball. Running inside hard on the angle would either create a chance for a break or at least cause trouble and make a few more meters with a dominant play the ball. While setting up an option for the next play with a little momentum. Instead the ball just dies with Moga and the next play has basically no momentum. Something I noticed a lot last night anyway.

When Moga knew Oates was hurt and he put his head down and used his size and acceleration to get that try, that's what I've been waiting this year. He needs to take them on more like that, Moga does look to pass way too much in my opinion and he doesn't back himself enough.

Looks like your standard post and pre origin losses these last two.

Feel sorry for the Bunnies who are going to be absolutely towelled next week

It doesn't help that he telegraphs the shit out of his passes - needs to develop some subtlety with that.

Would really like to see us bomb to Moga. We have seen how good his leap and catch is in defence, we should start using it in attack, could be really potent for us.

We never put bombs or chips over to them because Hunt can't put a good cross field kick in.

Yeah, Hunt's kicks are just a toss of a coin. A coin that has 3 sides, two tails, and you were calling heads. We put up an attacking kick last night and they got a simple 7 tackle set out of it.

Hunt tried to do a kick to Moga last night and it went 5m in goal and was an easy catch for Fergusson, Roosters scored that same set through the Kahu error. Yes he stuffed up, but if Hunt wasn't so rubbish at kicking they wouldn't have been in the position in the first place.

What wrong with Broncos forward pack? They got dominated by every other teams pack. Please I can't understand what was the game plan for today game. If kodi nikorima should be in team for next week. He should play in half back position.

What is wrong? No ball playing lock for starters, not much offloading to halves trailing the forwards who in turn have support runners ready to run lines. So no, no game plan that I can work out. Maybe a few nice plays like the one Marshall scores. But where are the set plays where Hunt and in this case Marshall, are on the same side and play inside out to each other or other runners? Where is that great set play we used a few weeks ago when Gillett scores from the scrum?

If there is a game plan it is haphazard, piece meal. Personally, I think Hunt is a great half back and will shine under a coach who knows how to use his strengths consistently, and the same goes for Milford. As much as I like Knik, I feel Milford makes him look good and in fact, we missed Milford big time yesterday.

Why have we gone backwards since 2015? I think that question needs serious consideration and constructive answers, and I think the role Hodges played in this side is a significant element, one that is missing on the field.

I think our position on the ladder shows we are very competitive, but my instinct is that the whole side needs to lift dramatically, lift consistency if we are going to go forward and not slide.

Yeah that kick was too deep but Moga's chase was rubbish too, he could have gotten there to compete but didn't try.

There's a little bit of negativity coming out of this loss but personally I don't think there aren't too many concerns. Out 5th tackle options were disappointing and probably cost us a lot but given we had 6 players backing up from origin as well at two "strike" players injured I thought it was an ok performance. The roosters are a real force this year so the two point loss in these circumstances is nothing to sneeze at.

Definitely would like to see a little more second phase play especially it seems we've got some guys with real offloading ability. In regards to the issue of Ben hunts form I think the only situation you'll see him replaced is if he has an absolute shocker or a game (I'm talking like a Justin hodges state of origin bad performance).

Have heard this before all too many times though. When will we get it right? the roosters were missing Pearce and had sweet FA in attack. They won because we derped it up and that is frustrating as hell

Thought it was a high quality game for alot of blokes out and reasonably terrible conditions. Didn't think we played bad at all. Would have beat alot of other sides. Roosters aren't duds

A lot of blokes out?

I'd be more worried if this loss was post origin leading into the business end of the season. Definitely agree it's frustrating though for sure!

McGuire being tackled on the 4th is becoming very predictable and boring, I lost count in the end.
Surely we could develop some better 4th tackle options.

Am I reading this correct? That everyone is getting excited by Marshall, even though he was responsible for 12 of the 18 points that the Roosters scored?

He was responsible for the Michael Gordon try, but what role did he have in the two Cordner tries?
