So based on the injury news, it is looking likely to be:

1. Martin
2. Oates
3. Staggs
4. Lee
5. Cobbo
6. Mam
7. Reynolds
8. Haas
9. Walters
10. Jensen
11. Capewell
12. Riki
13. Carrigan

14. Hetherington
15. Flegler
16. Palasia
17. Robati

That is a LOT better than it seemed about 12 hours ago.
Reynolds won't be playing. He doesn't have a body part that isn't injured. Haas unlikely as well. Even he isn't capable of playing with two fucked shoulders.

Far better than it looked last night. Herbie and Paix are both massive shames but they'll be back this year
Unless he has a miraculous recovery, Herbie's as good as gone for the season.

Dave Ballard:

“Herbie Farnworth has sustained a ruptured biceps and will undergo surgery and be out for an extended period. The club will be providing all the help and support that Herbie needs during that period."
“Cory Paix has picked up a Grade 2 strain of the MCL in his knee and is looking at a 4-6 week recovery."
“Payne Haas had an x-ray on his shoulder which came back clear and we will assess him over coming days before making a decision on Friday night’s game."
“It’s a similar situation for Adam Reynolds who has sustained an injury to his Costochondral Junction in a rib and will prepare to take on the Storm."
“Te Maire Martin and Corey Oates both had clear scans today and will report for training on Monday."
“Kotoni Staggs has been cleared of any major damage after he sustained a corked shoulder in Wednesday night’s Origin and will continue his rehab in preparation to play on Friday night.”

From a realist perspective we have Storm, rep round, cowboys - 2 games we were unlikely to win and a break so most these guys will be back or close to for our home stretch. Really not the end of the world.

That’s a real shame for Herbie but it will be interesting to see how Oates goes with a real centre inside him.

And no, I didn’t miss your earlier comment. Tesi is no chance of taking Herbie’s centre spot.

You can give your balls a tug too. Harden up, you blubbering fangirl. He disrespected Te Maire.

Very true, he definitely disrespected our entrenched, long-term, specialist fullback who has been the incumbent since, oh, near as long as I can remember. In fact it's hard to imagine a time when Martin wasn't wearing the one....

Please be gentle Melbourne. Herbie is such a big loss defensively.

No, it's not as bad as I was fearing. Reynolds is the biggest worry, but I always thought he'd be hobbling in and out of the team. We'll survive.

Paix has been decent, but not a revelation. We really could use some spark off the bench to rest Billy, and I don't know who that could be. I don't think Jake is fit. He wasn't named for the Seagulls. We don't even have Tyson as a last resort. Wouldn't be the worst last resort either.

Herbie is a real shame. He's been improving every week to the point where he's looking like a centre now. Ironically given he doesn't want to be one anymore. We're quite spoilt for choice at centre. Maybe not as solid as Herbie, but I don't think that edge will break in his absence. It will be interesting to see how Kevvie plugs that gap this week. I doubt he will use Kurt there but it would be hard to beat a combo of Capewell, Robati and Oates. Good enough for me.

Until Tesi returns.

A ruptured bicep is a really serious injury. He won't even be right for training camp on Nov 1.
Anything that’s ruptured is bad news. I don’t think I’ve even heard of anyone having surgery on their bicep.

I first noticed this weird fangirl fetish for Herbie when I was doing the Player of the Round. Nothing wrong with you having the hots for him, but I just treat him like everyone else.

Andrew Symonds did I think, he was out for a long time.

Did it 2/02 played again 24/03. Operated on 3/02 his was from his right shoulder.

Exactly 50 days. He missed Australia's first two games of the WC but they named him in the squad and carried him.

If this side lines up next week we are a big chance

1 - TMM
2 - Cobbo
3 - Staggs
4 - Lee
5 - Oates
6 - Mam
7 - Reynolds
8 - Jensen
9 - Walters
10 - Flegler
11 - Capewell
12 - Riki
13 - Carrigan

14 - Kennedy
15 - Palisia
16 - TC Robati
17 - Hethrington

I think we will be better if we keep Turpin away from the side as much as possible.

I don't see Haas playing. The game plan to ease the pressure and workload on Walters could be Cobbo, Staggs, Oates and Mam taking dummy half scoots.
