Anything that’s ruptured is bad news. I don’t think I’ve even heard of anyone having surgery on their bicep.
Plenty do and should.. I ruptured mine a few years ago but stupidly didn’t have surgery because I was competing in physique comps at the time.. unless you get the operation done quickly you’ll never regain 100% strength in the muscle and you’ll have one bicep that looks a little different from the other 🤦‍♂️

It’s something a footballer would want to be extremely cautious and conservative with as far as coming back to the game.. that part of the arm undergoes a lost of stretch and stress under load whenever you perform a tackle

Sounds nasty. So we shouldn’t expect to see Herbie until next season which I’m fine with if it means he comes back as close to 100% as possible.

Yeah, for a distal tear (which is what I assume farnworth has) surgery basically involves going in and dragging the muscle down towards the elbow and re joining it to its original insertion point.. so as you can imagine, it’s a really delicate recovery from that.. just thinking about trying to make a tackle after that is 😬

Didn't Mam pretty much kick only once last night?
Yes one long kick on the left side .
Reynolds , and Billy did most of the kicking . TMM one kick I believe .

Yeah he's averaging 28m a game- old mate carrying on like he's Ricky Stuart torping them 68m down field and precise kicks.

We`ll see .
Never said he was Ricky Stuart II . I said he has superior kicking skills to most of the players I have seen .
Long kicks , short kicks off the outside of his foot . Left footed kicks . He will make Ricky look like the pretender he was .

Travis Norton did it, his was from his elbow though, Herbie is from his shoulder.
Do you know which end has torn and how bad? Normally the anchor and grafts are stronger, more reliable than ACL/MCL.

Even with the injuries I think we can still put an ok team on the park. I dont think it can win, but we just need to go in with the 2015 defence mindset and be happy to defend our asses off for 80min

1. TMM
2. Oates
3. Staggs (should be fit)
4. Cobbo (played some centre last year... albeit on the right)
5. Pereira (filled in well this week and takes plenty of carries)
6. Ezra
7. Billy
8. Jensen
9. Turps
10. Flegs
11. Capewell
12. Riki
13. Patty

14. Kobe (will be required to spend some time at dummy half)
15. Palasia
16. Kennedy
17. TC

Alternatively I would consider bringing Roberts in to play 7 and allow Billy to play dummy half to minimise disruptions.
I'm starting to think Tyrone as well to no.7 for a couple weeks to give Reynolds a rest.

Keep Billy at 9 ......Turps on the bench. TMM at fullback. Mam at 6

Its not that much of a change up......

Leave Cobbo where he is....use Brenko in the centres

edit: just read Roberts is injured....? :facepalmwastaken:

It is almost comical to think that earlier in the year it was thought that our squad (including T&T) was a little too heavy in the halves:
Reynolds
Kelly
Gamble
Mam
Walters
TMM
Roberts

However 4 of those options are injured and two doing a very good job in other spine positions and will weaken the team by moving them.

Despite this I would rest reynolds. The storm would target him and one game (which we would likely lose in anycase) is not worth the risk and I would rather he recover properly and be ready for the rest of the season.

Adam unfortunately is proving to be only a match to match proposition. Sometimes I’m happy to hear he’s made it through a training session let alone a game. Clearly why Souths wouldn’t offer him any longer than 12 months.

Understand busted ribs are not a part of body breaking down / ageing processes in Rugby League footballers, but hammys, knees, shoulders most certainly are in that class.

Would't surprise me if he spent part of his three years with with our coaching staff. Obviously I would prefer him to be our Captain on the field but perhaps might not be such a bad thing should that end up being the case.

He had covid one week and the other 2.5 games he's missed so far have all been due to dog shots/illegal plays. As teams start to worry more about players around him rather then solely him the dog shots will calm down a little bit.

He is getting older and will sit out the odd week but there is NO WAY souths should have even considered not giving him 2 years. Despite how the next 2 years go, his impact on our team alone shows it was an insanely bad decision by souffs and great one for us.

Couldn't agree more. Absolutely ecstatic we have Adam. Not saying decisions by either club were good or bad but why Souths made theirs.

Most certainly they would be ruing their decision after our last game with them. However, I do feel every game he plays for us is a bonus.

I think he’s only been getting injured because opposition players are hitting him late. His prior injury before this game was copping a stray knock to his hamstring I think

None of those hits were particularly hard, he's unfortunately Steve Matai in a 7 jersey.

I'm not mad about it though because his 800k is value even just for his coaching around the club.

Certainly a part of it but not all.

There's probably been occurrences this year where Kevvie has been conservative and not played Adam when he could've and that would be due to where we are sitting on the ladder.

If we were down in the bottom 4 I think there wouldve been times where he would've played instead of letting him get 100%.

Bellamy was doing it last year... Harry would get a slight niggle so he'd be rested and Bsmith could do a role for him.

The wins we've been picking up without him has allowed us to rest him more than probably needed

I haven't seen it called out here or in the post game, but I was yelling at the TV about Kevvie pulling Reyno off the field. I can't understand why he didn't. He was clearly hindered and in pain after the first tackle. Then he took a kick in clear discomfort. I know it seems fine now in hindsight, no major damage, might be back this week, but come on get him off Kev. It's a long season, we are looking good, no need to risk him unnecessarily.

The game was still very much in the balance at the time and it was Reyno who wanted to play on.
