As a bit of an aside and on a positive note I was happy for Staggs in particular tonight. He was strong in everything he did and I personally felt like he’d been having a bit of a lean year this year but it wasn’t due to a lack of effort

The bad habits we were getting into when winning have come back to bite us now we don’t have Walsh or reyno to pull something out the hat. The frustration & desperation has built with each loss as they try to find shortcuts to get out of it. It’s been like watching a car crash in slow motion, we have all seen it coming.

In the last 3 weeks we’ve missed 40 tackles on the left edge between mam-Piakura-Cobbo. Piakura tonight missed 9 tackles, including one where he ran beyond our own try line with his back to the opposition. At the very least, he doesn’t deserve to be starting. Depth is killing us because it’s not permitting any accountability for some of these performances. We’ve been caught short in the back row big time by releasing capewell, not to mention the versatility he offered us when a back went down during a game.

It's probably more due to how many players we are missing from last year but I kind of think alot of our issues are coming from dummy half. We got away with hookers that never ran last year because we could afford to with so much strike power but now we just look like a team that receives the ball flat footed after every tackle. They don't even have to even run, we just need some sort of momentum around the ruck for our forwards to run onto. I would not be surprised to see Mozer in the team next week.

Hold on to the fucking ball! Write that on a whiteboard and have them stare at it for 3 days on end nonstop. Wet conditions or not, we continually put ourselves in bad positions.

The live thread is always full of emotion, but I loved Cobbo’s involvement tonight. He did plenty of great things, dampened by plenty of errors.

Wolfie mentioned the same about Staggs; he wasn’t great, but his involvement was high, his defence was good.

Plug Walsh into this game and it changes everything; he doesn’t get dominated like Sailor does, he takes better options, he poses threats that open up other players.

Plug Reynolds into this game and it changes everything; Maddens kicking game was putrid, not just the actual kicking, but the positioning of where he kicks from

We are missing, quite literally, the 2 biggest cogs in this team. We all need perspective that we can’t have a system that adequately replaces BOTH of these players. Walsh without Reynolds and vice versa, we can patch together wins. Both of them out and it’s game over which is the same for any team in the comp.

There is NO team that has ever won an NRL premiership without their 2 best players and it’s crazy to suggest that we are any different.

WTF happened to our go forward at any cost? What happened to play together as a team? Way too many flashy plays & not a collective effort.

Were there no structures at all?

No support plays what so ever. Dumb **** defense & those drop balls OMG!

Kev has got a very difficult task on his hands. The bye has come to atone his decisions perhaps at the right time.

I honestly think the players are too dumb to either remember or apply it in-game

Every single player does their job and they do it well. They don't use injuries as an excuse.
