POST GAME [Round 16, 2022] Broncos vs Cowboys

We need to protect Reynolds kicking game more......get some bodies in the way of the defence. Hess was getting a free run at him last night....almost every time. Once he got rattled early....it seemed to throw his game off for the whole night. Nothing worked after that.....

Stupid mistakes aside......our defence in general was pretty good. Attacking errors at crucial times hurt us the most....

Cowboys "unbeatable"...?
pffft .....please 🙄

Thought Riki was shit and needs to play in the reggies for a while....

My vote is to keep playing Cobbo at fullback if TMM is out.
Nui is Isucko 2.0....IMO.
We were in trouble after Reynolds second 5th tackle kick. He'd been hit a bit late both times and I think the first of the two stung him a fair bit. We just aren't smart enough yet to take our time with our set finishes. A more controlled ( slower for ****'s sake) fifth tackle play means the markers must be stationary instead of split(ing) or in motion as the ball is played.

Your kicker should ALWAYS have ample time to kick any shape of kick he wants AND safely evade a rushing defence.

They got to Reynolds very early, stung him and I think that set the tone. Considering we put strong points up against a top team and aren't at our best it wasn't as bad as it might appear. The team's core, the structure remains strong. We're okay.

Kotoni made 16 tackles last night, Jordan made 39. Their edge got really hammered, but they managed to contain Holmes.

Once TMM got injured and Capewell went to centre it seemed to me that was the side to attack .
Surprised by his tackle count . Cowboys had a lot of possession .

Riki is defending OK . Not getting much from him in attack . He does seem to get gassed and make unforced errors though. TC was better value in the games he played . But , that was on the left side .

Kotoni fan here . He needs to work some variety into his attack ATM . His signature move is getting shut down too easily . And wet grounds over the next few weeks [flood in Sydney ] will make his move even harder to pull off .
Like I said they would rehearse his move during the week and be ready for it .

He pretty much runs straight and hard, and he is a more powerful ball runner than Riki. I think in the areas he would be getting the ball in the back row he would do a hell of a lot more damage than Riki. They way he gets the ball and runs in the centers wouldnt be the same if he was receiving the ball as an edge backrower.

Cobbo has literally shown nothing at center. I'm not saying he wont, but he hasnt played there in the NRL. He needs to stay on the wing. I dont think he is ready to play any other position yet. He will have some good moments, like he did last night at fullback but i still think at least for this year he needs to just stay as a winger.

errr ,,, Last season he played Centre .
Played pretty well too .

Tesi deserves his chance as I thought he was starting to find his groove before he got injured and to be quite honest, we need him out there.

TMM is injured, Selwyn gets picked for QLD probably, who else we got?

The key to unleashing Kotoni is getting him one on one, we haven't been able to do that lately and he's made one of the scapegoats when he isn't going looking for some scurries from dummy-half.

Better going looking for scurries than Milford going looking for curries.

Mead.

Tesi is an easy target on here, an unfair target.

He deserves a chance after injury.

Went off injured today at half time for Souths- never came back.
Piakura went off too and never came back from an HIA about quarter of the way through the game.

I can't remember it, my mistake, but he's not ready yet. Don't get why people want to rush these young blokes. We've been doing it for quite a while and it hasn't worked. They need to be allowed to get used to the grind in the NRL and it's not going to help Selwynn being played in a more high pressure position. He already makes a fair few mistakes as it is. Needs to stay on the wing for now.

Bad day at the office ..yes Reno not fully fit and Stags quite again..Think we need Gamble back out there. EM just keeps thinking he is playing back yard footy all on his own….chip kicking on first tackle…WTF.
Reno and even carrigan tried some Hail Mary kicks. Brain snaps all round.
