Round 16 - Broncos vs Sharks - Post Match Discussion

You're either thinking very short term or very long term.

Walker is signed to the Storm for this year so to play for the Broncos now would require a release, he's signed to Souths for 2015 and 2016 so he'd either need another release or he'd just play the rest of this year.

He's injured also and hasn't played in weeks so wouldn't have helped last night.

Didn't realise his injured so fair enough, as for thinking short term, how is for example playing a winger at 5/8th any better for example then playing barba at 5/8th if your goal is short term? Sorry but the argument oh we should just stick with Hoffman for this season for the sake without exploring other options doesn't cut it because its "only short term" but then deny any other option as being "short term" doesn't cut it.

There isn't a whole lot of changes Hook could make TBH. Maybe we move Hodges to the 6 and that way we can have Copley in the centres and Maranta on the wing. A big issue for me is the bench. Hook hasn't got a lot of trust in the likes of Hala and Wallace which is why we suffer through Stagg and Lowrie. I can't wait till we are through the Origin period and get our better players back on the park.

The play where hunt kicked to the corner, Copley and hodges chased Gordon ...and then missed him, with hunt coming and cleaning him up earning us a repeat set really really eats me up. If the team can't lift after that play for Benny hunt they all deserve to be sacked.

hunt, McGuire, Hannant and thaiday get a pass mark.

the refs were shit but I agree with most that Griffin having Stagg & Lowrie on the field, nigh, on the team sheet is what cost us. I loved stagg circa 2006 but this old stagg has to retire, and so does lowrie. wtf had happened to DodDS? Did we let him go, is he inured? He would be better than those guys on one leg.

A shame about Dodds. He was really starting to come good last season and then he got injured.

The only thing I'm enjoying about this season is the fact that Ben Hunt is awesome now, Copely and Maranta don't suck any more, and Hala is still a massive awesome thing.

Losing to the Sharks is absolutely disgusting, and can't be excused. The worst attacking team since 1996, and we allow 24 fucking points. I don't care what excuses people pull, but we need a new coach, and we need one now.

If hook was any sort of a man he would resign.

Can we spend ten minutes or so at training learning about pressuring the kickers?
On the rare occasion we pressure them, it's a brain fade tackle around the legs!
Its going to be a penalty every time, boys! Wrap your arms.

I notice on the Broncos website that it has Marmin Barba listed as a Halfback.. does he have a decent passing and kicking game? We all know how quick he is.. if he can do both of those things better than Hoffman, maybe he deserves first crack at Five-Eighth.

He will whinge too much.

Haven't read any of this thread, but I assume I'm beating a dead horse when I say..

Hoffman is garbage, it's June 30 in 2 days, can we just release him to the Dogs now?
Barba played shit, lose some weight.
Hunt needs a better half next to him.
Stagg is the shittest Bronco in history.
Lowrie is poo.
Wallace is poo.
Oates played poo.

I didn't think Oates went that bad?

I'm liking him as a backrower ......

I know it's been said before. But I can see some value in giving Granville a run at six. He can defend as well as Hoffman , is quick, I've seen him pass the football and put in a grubber for a try last year.

Well that was definitely a game of two halves. We let them make so many easy metres by not moving up and not wrapping up the ball, 19 offloads is ridiculous. Granville played ok though was definitely lost in the second half, plenty of walking in the middle of the field and not in at dummy half, big step from isc to nrl.

McGuire was the definite stand out along with Hunt. Hunts vision is rapidly improving and can be forgiven for a couple of ordinary kicks.

Thought Hannant played pretty well as well.

I don't understand this, to fix the perceived issue of a player playing out of position you're going to move someone with no experience in that position at all to the 6.

In the same week people are bagging Gallan for heaping everything on the coach, you want the Broncos to do the same. Up 22-0 you shouldn't lose that's the bottom line- how about some responsibility taken by players?

Cant agree more 1910. Hook wasnt the one on the field playing like school girls for the last 25mins.

Barba is playing 6 a lot of the time.
