POST GAME Round 17 - Broncos vs Storm

An embarrassing, sloppy effort of humongous proportions.

This loss has completely shattered our confidence. We are no chance in 2017. Even with Milf, Boyd and McGuire we lose this game. We weren't in it at all for the entire 80 minutes. It's really embarrassing guys. I'm not surprised we lost but I'm totally surprised in HOW we lost. Completely dominated and out played in every facet of the game.

And the real Ben hunt returns. Bed has crap everywhere.

So many things going against us, like the injuries, the shitty ref calls...but still, Melbourne was a few tiers above us. Completely outclassed us. If they play like that, no one can stop them this year, especially since their other biggest competitors have no Thurston or Ennis anymore.

It was always going to be hard with four of our best blokes out and the Storm getting away with murder in the ruck and a million forward passes.

Hunt plays well last week and then turns in an absolute shocker.

EDIT: I shouldn't even have to point out what the Storm get away with, it's not like it's a rare occurrence.

Fair call it would have made it only a 20 point game. Robbed I say

Oh well. The only saving grace is that it was so bad it's just not worth another thought.
It wasn't a game that teased me with the hope of a win.
I hate Storm. I hate watching them constantly wrestle in EVERY tackle. They can't be stopped because you would have to penalize them in every third tackle and if you try to copy them the ref is all over you.
It just seems to be how it is so i just enjoy the games they don't play in

Turn it up, fool. Your team have been expansion darlings for the better part of a decade. And the guy that dared to challenge your cheating got the flick shortly after. Says a lot.

Broncos sitting in the top 4 with 4 players out, one lost very early on.

They were never going to put in a win at all costs performance like they did earlier in the season.

And that's the problem with this side. The hunger isn't there.

Tigers have been shit for a decade

We just don't have the moves to combat the Storm.

We pay the storm way too much respect
It's like they are scared to get in smith Cronk and slaters face and intimidate them

We do. We just refused to use it.

We had the players capable of putting them to the sword, but we keep getting into an arm wrestle with them.

It wasn't a lack of hunger - just execution and smarts.

Lots of inexperience on show for Brisbane, new combinations, players thrown in at awkward times. They looked off kilter and Melbourne were on their game.

For mine, that last pass from Hunt summed it up. They weren't going to die wondering, they were going to throw everything even when it didn't need to be thrown.

Melbourne can win as many games as they want during the regular season... they still can't win a premiership

Some positives:

Blair was damn solid for us in the first half. Thought he tried hard.
McCullough was arguably our best player. Good to see him running.
Benji Marshall still has the moves.
Ofahengaue really stood up after McGuire went off. Gotta re-sign him, he's impressing again, especially for a 21yo prop.
